New law requires they not teach catholic doctrine in a private school.

They likely will ultimately win for now.

But the radical left will never give up trying to silence and outlaw faith they dont agree with.

“Radical left” is just a dull term. It’s like hello, 2014 called and they’d like sell you some Paul Ryan. I wish you would upgrade your attacks with more clever catch phrases like “leftist filth” or at the very least “Demorats.” At least with the latter you could tie in Satan and really own those liberals.

And, of course, there is more to the story. Cherry-picking is great to drum clicks and outrage but it's poor reporting.

But defendants note the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act allows for religious exemptions

That's a tough one.

On the one hand, it seems that Catholic parents should have a right to send their children to school where Catholic doctrine is taught.

On the other, I can understand that maybe the school should not teach doctrines that are today considered out-of-date.

For example, I used to watch a TV show featuring a dynamic Catholic priest named Bishop Sheen. (Back in the 1960s.) He would not be allowed on TV today because on one program he ridiculed "social slobberers" who wanted toleration for prostitutes and homosexuals.

Today the Catholic Church invites gay people to become Church members as long as they are celibate. Very generous of them!

This should indeed be banned.

This is a very dangerous thing to do. It keeps us ignorant and divided.
It's partly responsible for the situation we are in today.

The more religion we eliminate the better the country will be.

This only applies to public schools. TheBlaze is pandering to morons with this religious clickbait.

Maybe the priests and bishops should instead be celibate around children instead, and the Vatican should stop trying to protect those who are not celibate around children.

We are a much more secular country (USA) than a 100 years ago. As a result are we more civilized and cultured now?

Your grandmother wasn't allowed to open a bank account without her husband's permission.
This reminds me of defund the police. How has that worked out?
Couldn't tell you because the police have not been defunded.

If they want to teach catholic doctrine then they should not get my tax dollars.

If they want to keep taking my tax dollars they should obey the constitution and stop grooming children to the catholic religion.

The Blaze is political porn. They develop stories that play into your fantasies without real regard for their truth. They exist to create useful idiots that they can manipulate their outlooks. When you post those articles here, you are asking us to comment on your fantasies. None of us are interested in your fantasies.

If you want to read The Blaze, knock yourself out, but kindly fact check yourself by finding the story on a legitimate news source before posting. A Blaze story is likely omitting material facts to protect the fantasy. No thank you.

We are not interested in commenting on the latest right wing conspiracy theory. We do, however, enjoy responding to well informed posters. Someone that reads the Blaze and does not fact check themselves are not likely a well informed poster. So, try to be a little less simple and a little more focused on truth.

Ok thanks for the info. I will wait and see.

You sure? The way I read it it's about employment discrimination, not teaching curriculum.

Are you saying they should forbid catholic teaching on this?

You sure? The way I read it it's about employment discrimination, not teaching curriculum.
Well it seems there may be an exemption anyway. Not sure it applies.

But if you can't rule out gender activists as teachers, you basically are denying them the right to teach exclusively their doctrine.

Good. Indoctrinating children with religion is evil and should be criminal IMO.

Indoctrinate them with math, biology, geography.

Subservience to Sky Fairies isnt a marketable skill anyway.

This is not about what is being taught In Catholic schools, but according to the article, it is about hiring practices

False.

You must really hate public schools.

Are you saying they should forbid catholic teaching on this?
In a public school, yes they should forbid teaching any and all Catholic doctrine. Private schools can teach religious doctrine but they should not receive any public funding for the students to attend them because of the separation of church and state. If you want to send your children to a religious school then you should pay 100% of the tuition or seek grants/loans from that religion.

That is a brilliant reply.
