I've noticed how many of the threads in this forum are about God/atheism. To me there is nothing deep or philosophical about denial in God, not that this is a bad thing. It'd be great if there were more thread on actual philosophy, you know? Bring in some "The Art of War," thoughts by Francis Bacon, etc, etc. Constantly I see it's a mash of the same threads on atheism.

I'd rather cut to the chase, so I have a questions:

● Do you agree there's a problem with the Philosophy forum?
● Should there be a split within the Philosophy forum?
● If so, how? Have Philosophy be the main forum and Atheism a subforum within it?
● Do you think this would help or not?

It'd just be great to see an increase in GOOD threads on actual philosophical ideas.

Wake, a total of 3 threads in this section about the existence of God and atheism are yours, posted in the last few weeks. Maybe you can help solve this problem by not creating anymore for a good, long time?

Done bun can't be undone.

The philofluffers here will claim that philofluffy includes the entire gamut of thinking, whatever the context. If true then no discussion is possible without philofluffy.

Jus' sayin'.

Temporal, that doesn't negate the problem that there are more threads about atheism in the Philosophy forum, than philosophical ideas themselves. To be correct, the latest thread by me wasn't about atheism/God, but the attitude of atheists to religion/the religious in regards to respect. I don't hold atheism itself, which is pretty much the denial of God, to be deep or philosophical. The better route, tbh, would be to keep the Philosophy forum and make Atheism a subforum. Doing that will seperate the topics and streamline the forums, I think. We all seem to understand how God/Atheism threads reach the same general conclusion; this crux of the issue then, from what I've seen, devolves into ridicule/passive-aggressiveness. I say nip it in the bud. Make it so Philosophy focuses on actual philosophy.

Can't say I mind you starting a thread with atheism in the topic. However here: and here you can see that your complain has been voiced already. Could have added your voice there maybe?

I did not read the contents of those threads because my time is short. The prior thread I haven't seen and the latter I figured was about discussing any philosophical issue. I'll check those threads soon.
