Nine Democratic presidential hopefuls, including front-runners Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, flocked to the Poor People's Moral Action Congress on Monday, each trying to outpander their rivals and promise the most government handouts.
It was an alarming spectacle for anyone who works for a living. These Democratic candidates don't believe jobs are the way to end poverty. For them, "work" is a four-letter word. Their approach is to take money from working stiffs and give it to slackers.

How very telling...

Hey, they have to keep those ETB cards recharged with my hard earned money.
That's what they do.

I've heard it said, there are 1.5M jobs that are currently unfilled. In other words, 1.5 million jobs and not enough people to fill those positions. That's pretty damn good. I mean, if we could get 1.5 million leftists off their asses, out from in front of the TV and out of their mommies basement, and into those jobs, just think of the tax money that could be robbed from them. :)

"Journalism"

Speaking of pandering to an audience Betsy.

You could ya know, find refuting evidence and show your comments have worth, because otherwise you're just... deflecting.

That would presume such nonsense and vitriolic content was worth my time. Correcting facts for those who have abandoned them is a fully effort.

The leftist candidates ought to have been encouraging people to seek gainful employment and instilling hopefulness. But no. Everything was doom and gloom. No wonder the leftists are miserable.

It says right in the article that Warren talked about expanded access to continuing education and affordable childcare, presumably so that people can get better jobs and can actually afford childcare so they can go to work. Article is poorly written bull****. You should really be ashamed for falling for it and for trying to act as though it's valid.

So you can't, you'll just blather and expect people to take your comments as serious. Sorry but if you want to debate, you need more than just your immature ramblings.

Fauxahontas was outlining another one of her schemes to give away tax payers hard earned money. Leftists always get jazzed up when freebies are talked about.

She didn't talk about jobs, just want she'll give people in return for their votes. With the money from people who are actually ya know, working...

Before I read a hit piece from RCP, answer me this: Do you really think that just getting a job is the magic solution to poverty?

Do you think getting a job is a step forward or a step backwards?

Why should we help people who refuse to help themselves?

I didn't ask you, but since you've chosen to white knight Renee, do you really think that just getting a job is the magic solution to poverty?

No. But just ask any employer. If you have two equally skilled applicants for one available job, who will you hire? The person who has bummed off the social system for the last several years, or the person who maintains a job?

This is a step forward. It takes one step at a time to get places or achieve goals.

Good. But you should have stopped there. Because if you had, you wouldn't have said BS like this:

Please go present your strategies to people who live in systemic poverty. I'm sure they would be happy to hear from your self-anointed expertise. :lamo

No kidding. For much of Trump's base: Trump gives money to richest Americans...good good good!!!! Politicians talk about helping poor.....bad bad bad!!!!

No wonder Trump loves his base so much.

There we go. That's the rub. She talks about policies that would help people get a job and get to work, and you complain about them being handouts. Anything except for tax cuts is just a bribe for a vote... when a democrat does it.

I wish you could see how transparent you are.

I have little doubt that at least one of the Trump supporters in this thread lives in systemic poverty.

The problem is, they're convinced that if just give a few more of their meager pennies to Trump and his buddies, that the ultra rich will swoop in, share their wealth, and lift them out of poverty. Or they sincerely believe it's those immigrants who are the problem, and once they're gone, everything will be perfect. Which explains why they always come to heel like a well trained dog when Trump blows his racist dog whistle.

The base has been conned for decades, since Reagan and "trickle down economics". Sadly, many lack the education to realize they are continually voting against their own self interest.

This is literally what they support:

Trump will personally save up to $15m/year under tax bill, analysis finds
Jared Kushner will save up to $12m, while five other members of Trump’s inner circle will also see benefits worth millions of dollars

While they end up paying more taxes with tariffs.

From Bloomberg:
Add in the additional tariffs on another $300 billion in Chinese goods that Trump proposed in May, and is still considering, and that increases the cost for an average family of four to about $2,294 annually, according to research

Exhibit A:

Only when they are tying to tax it out of existence.

Exhibit B:

Fauxahontas was outlining another one of her schemes to give away tax payers hard earned money. Leftists always get jazzed up when freebies are talked about.

Exhibit C:

Hey, they have to keep those ETB cards recharged with my hard earned money.
That's what they do.

They're literally voting for themselves to be taxed more heavily so that billionaires can save millions in taxes, while claiming they don't want taxes raised. SMH. How the **** does that happen?

I just said debating you was a waste of time.

Dr. King did... and I tend to agree with him:
In his final Sunday sermon in 1968, King explained that a person who "doesn't have a job" has "neither life nor liberty." Message to the 2020 candidates: Jobs, not handouts, are the remedy for poverty.

Cause you know, when you have a job, you start taking care of you, you build skills, opportunities, you have a chance. When you're a ward of the state... not so much.

She talked about hand outs not job creation, not the benefits of hard work, just "Vote for me, get **** without earning it"
