Here's a question for you who support trump's bringing into this country 17 "family members" of the Sinaloa Cartel:
How are these "family members" going to support themselves financially?
“It is evident that his family is going to the U.S. because of a negotiation or an offer that the Department of Justice is giving him,” Garcia Harfuch said.
It's pretty self-evident what's going on here if one just reads the damn article instead of looking at the clickbait headline.

Could be some are not.You doubt they are family members?
Could be some are not.
But I have another concern:
How are these 17 "family members" going to support themselves financially here in the USA?
It seems to me that the sources are quoting a Mexican official, who perhaps is simply repeating what Sinaloa Cartel family members told him.So you're speculating that the referenced articles are mistaken or untruthful.
I think the reason they were allowed in is that the cartel agreed to henceforth call it the Gulf of America in their communications. From the Associated Press:
Mexican security chief confirms cartel family members entered US in a deal with Trump administration
Mexico’s government has confirmed reports that 17 family members of the son of a former cartel leader crossed into the United States.apnews.com
Okay, so now after all the ginned-up Republican uproar over the crisis at the border, the dangers presented by the drug, gun and human traffickers of Mexican Cartels, the violations of due process of citizens and immigrants in the United States, the suspension of status for Afghan and Haitian refugees, and ignoring orders of the Supreme Court...after all that, the Trump Administration is now apparently specifically importing the families of Sinaloa cartel members into the United States.
If this is confirmed to be true, this is insane. I mean, what, did the Sinaloa Cartel promise to allow the Trump Organization to build a new resort on Cartel territory in exchange for the boss's wife and kids being allowed to come to the United States?
@Athanasius68 is trying to deflect attention from trump's allowing into this country 17 "family members" of the trump-designated terrorist group that is waging war against....this country.
Oh, shit....there went the covfefe!I think the reason they were allowed in is that the cartel agreed to henceforth call it the Gulf of America in their communications.
YOU might not take "seriously" who is entering this country, but I sure am, when it comes to trump's allowing in those associated with the Sinaloa Cartel, which trump himself so recently designated as a "foreign terrorist group".Not at all. I am pointing out that:
1. This seems to be part of a plea deal involving Cartel leadership
Which may be worthwhile
2. Progressive concern about who is crossing cannot be taken seriously.
Oh, shit....there went the covfefe!
Very good!
No because these are not they are not refuges with asylum claims. These are non-criminal Guzman family members. As I mentioned up thread, based on the facts of the article, the Trump administration is allowing the families of cartel members in the US because they may suffer persecution in their home country. Do you really not see the hypocrisy?
We have no way of knowing that any or all of these 17 "family members" are indeed "non-criminals".they are not refuges with asylum claims. These are Guzman family members. One more time for those in the cheap seats then:
Guzman has info on other cartel operations. In return for him giving US investigators ( not Mexican as Guzman is in US custody)
Guzman wants his non-criminal family to come into the USA for protection from revenge killing etc. of these other cartel members.
Since Mexico is a narco-state unable to protect anyone - much less high value targets like Guzman's family- it's what Guzman wants as part of his plea agreement .. this is very common in any criminal /conspiracy investigation
Really this is all there is to the to the OP.

The OP states it as suchWe have no way of knowing that any or all of these 17 "family members" are indeed "non-criminals".
the Guzman family members are not allowed in under migrant asylum claims that flooded the border under BidenThat trump is willing to provide asylum - and, perhaps, financial assistance - to Sinaloa Cartel family members, who may or may not be members of that cartel, yet is refusing to do so for other groups (Afghan translators, Haitian refugees, everyone else seeking asylum), makes no sense whatsoever.
They might be in protective custody, they may not. Considering Biden let in about 7 million migrants- many unable to support themselves-Btw, why are you okay with taxpayers' supporting these 17 "family members"?
Apple and Oranges. But if you want to go there the chaotic "withdrawal" (rout) was Biden's decision not to take over security atImagine trying to explain that to an Afghanistan translator that assisted the US while their family is being put on a plane.
No, it doesn't state that. All we have is the statement that there are no outstanding warrants. That sure as hell doesn't mean all of the 17 "family members" of the sinister Sinaloa Cartel that is currently waging war on the US and on Americans are not criminals. The OP state it as such
the Guzman family members are not allowed in under migrant asylum claims that flooded the border under Biden
The DoJ or whatever US criminal enforcement agency is making a quid pro quo only to these family members because it gets Guzman to give up his info on "other cartels"
They might be in protective custody, they may not. Considering Biden let in about 7 million migrants- many unable to support themselves- no im not concerned in the least. Again this a a common tactic whn a high value criminal (Guzman) is willing to trade his info on a criminal organization in return for protecting his family -which Mexico is incapable of doing
"transactional" --- Diplomatese for "Amoral"Well, they would have the money to buy themselves one of those flashy Gold Immigration Cards that Trump will hand out to anyone for a few million dollars
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is true - our POTUS is very transactional.
We are also buddies with Syria now too apparently.
Or if we're going to provide asylum for family members of the drug-dealing Sinaloa Cartel, why on earth aren't we doing the same thing for other asylum seekers? There is no cogent argument for allowing these people into our country. Talk about an open border….
OP language is a presumption of innocenceNo, it doesn't state that. All we have is the statement that there are no outstanding warrants. That sure as hell doesn't mean all of the 17 "family members" of the sinister Sinaloa Cartel that is currently waging war on the US and on Americans are not criminals.
it's not a requirement . but we dont have any info on this either wayHOW are these people going to support themselves in this country?
pure fantasyIf you can't answer that, aren't you admitting taxpayers will pay for their upkeep? Or are you acknowledging that perhaps more US outlets for distribution of the cartel's drug business will be opened?
I've already said the Mexican authorities say there are no warrants. I have, however, pointed out that that in itself doesn't mean there is no criminality attached to any of the 17 "family members" of the very sinister, very dangerous, very violent Sinaloa Cartel.OP language is a presumption of innocence
"none of the family members were being pursued by Mexican authorities"
it's not a requirement . but we dont have any info on this either way
pure fantasy
