Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani suggested that once Special Counsel Robert Mueller wraps up his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, President Trump could issue pardons to some of the people swept up in the case.
"When the whole thing is over, things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons," he told the New York Daily News -- on the day former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was being sent to jail for violating the terms of his bail for witness tampering.
This is exactly why anyone charged with a federal crime must also be charged with any and all applicable and relevant state crimes that cover the events and actions to make sure justice will be served. Trump must be made to understand that he cannot fix this by obstructing justice even if his own party would look the other way and do nothing about it.
Well, just in your opening post. We want to hear from you in the thread after it(CCBS NEWS) As Paul Manafort Goes to Jail, Rudy Giuliani Suggests Trump Could Issue Pardons
Obviously, the second paragraph has the money quote.
In the interest of respecting the bipartisan nature of a BN MSN OP, I'll withhold my personal opinion to posting in the thread.

Way to openly advocate for OOJ, Rudy.
Wow. What a tool.
Naked partisan dangling, how is it not? That has to be checked. And if it comes to pass, it really has to be checked even though damage will have already been done. What a crisis.

Wow. What a tool.
Him saying that can be considered OOJ.

Who's going to make him understand that? He can barely understand what day it is.
Trump tweet said:Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!
What a boat load of dumb. Trump's tweet earlier today is another boat load of dumb:
Who Manafort represented has no bearing on his conviction, and the reference to other people is just the usual whataboutism stupidity. If investigations into others have merit then they should be pursued, but to try and bring in others is pretty sad.
Yes please.“Whoever corruptly endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede the administration of justice” may be guilty of obstructing justice under US law. If the approach “corruptly persuades” a person not to testify, it may be witness tampering. And if the persuasion “promises anything of value” to a witness who absents himself from a proceeding, it may constitute bribery.
I don't know what's funner - watching Trump melt down, or watching his supporters wet their pants.
Of those convicted/charged of/with a federal offense, the Office of the President, no matter who it is at the time, can pardon whomever they want. Nor is it OOJ.

The Governor of Illinois had the complete and total power to replace the Senate vacancy created by Obama going to the White House. He now sits in a prison cell doing years of hard time for corruptly exercising his constitutional powers.
One cannot use a power they have for corrupt or criminal purpose.
The power is Constitutional and there is no limitation in it.Where is your evidence that it's not OOJ?
And? Pointing to an authority is a logical fallacy. But if, that is what you want to do we can post dueling lawyers as my inclination would be to cite the most preeminent Constitutional legal scholar there is, Alan Dershowitz, which clearly would trump your ten irrelevant law professors.I cited a law professor claiming it is.
That's just plain stupid. That he can pardon is not the question, so why did you think it was to be answered? The power is Constitutional and there is no limitation in it.
No legislation supersedes the Constitution.
NO it could not be.That's just plain stupid. That he can pardon is not the question, so why did you think it was to be answered?
While president, he can pardon anyone he wants.
That pardon can also be a crime, he could then be impeached for OOJ. Your posts evidence a distinct lack of awareness of reality.
