None of the neo-Marxist ideologies will solve racial problems, nor unite people.

Ali is a mixed bag of politics, some I agree with and some I don't. But she's right about CRT.

Teaching history has never promoted hate before, why should it now? We should be able to look at our past mistakes and do better when we know better. I’ve heard a lot of reasons why people object to the CRT but this one is far fetched.

The media was doing a poor job of pushing CRT. I never heard about CRT until those complaining about it started complaining.
95% of the population had never heard of it, and still fewer than that still actually know what it is.

The only media covering CRT is right-wing media...because they need something to whine about.

Then she is an idiot because nothing about CRT "teaches" hate
I also have yet to see any media "push" this topic besides nutter extremist media and whatever they are talking about is factually NOT CRT no matter how many times they call it CRT
Lastly do you know anywhere that shows all these elementary schools and middle schools factually teaching actual CRT and what the curriculum is .. . . . I havent seen anybody do that . . just baseless claims that its "widespread and happening" lol

and what they were complaining about was made up and not CRT . . i have no idea what they were crying about but it sounded batshit insane. lol

Not to worry!

No "theory" will be effective in teaching children to either "like" or "dislike" any particular ethnicity.

Those children will be influenced by only one thing: life experiences.

Oh look, Fox found a minority to push their fear and hate based message, so now RW puppets are touting it as proof.

Remember how nobody was talking about this, then all of a sudden all the Trumpists started spam-bombing DP about it?

This is why:

The concept has been around for more than 40 years, according to EducationWeek, but it has become a major programming theme on Fox News only in recent months . . . . The term “critical race theory” was mentioned just 132 times on Fox News shows in 2020. In 2021, it has been mentioned 1,860 times, according to a tally using the media monitoring service Critical Mention. After being mentioned just 51 times in February, it was mentioned 139 times in March and 314 times in April. It really blew up in May, when it was mentioned 589 times on the network’s shows. In June, the topic has been mentioned 737 times on Fox. On Tuesday, it was mentioned 48 times on shows across the network’s lineup.

And sure enough, here's another dutiful Trumpist, carrying out his orders:

It is beyond pathetic how easily they control you.

The right will believe anything their lords tell them to believe.

Hell, they believed Mexico was going to pay for the wall.

Based on the posts I read they know even less about CRT now than before they heard of it. Such is the scourge of poorly informed complainers.
some good starting points, the links and citations matter too. For good info on CRT Id trust stuff from known LAW SCHOOLS (not opinion pieces) and official places like Britannica etc

According to some of the complainers a good starting point would be an elementary school history book since the claim is CRT is already part of the K-12 curriculum.

LMAO yes ive heard that, ive heard 1st graders are being taught to hate each other!
But in reality, I've seen no factual evidence of CRT being taught to elementary schoolers and middle schoolers
and if ANYBODY is being taught that "all whites are evil and racist like a fish has to breathe water and every problem and short comings blacks have is because of the oppressive white devil and white privledge" I dont know what that nonsensical bat shit insane tinfoil hat nuttery is but it most certainly is not CRT and i would be against teaching anybody that also. 😂

So children's experiences in the classroom aren't part of their 'life experiences'?

Oh, yes!

The experiences that those children have in elementary and secondary schools will absolutely affect their attitudes.

Mere words will not.

People have been talking about Critical Race Theory and similar critical theories for much longer than Fox has taken notice. There have been ongoing local disputes. I first heard of it after the Evergreen College incident. Jordan Peterson talked about it. Other observers -- right, left, and centrist -- have been discussing it for many years. Focus on cable news will immerse you in narratives and blind you to reality. Most of the things they report are simply to feed confirmation bias.

Not a single Republican understands any of these terms.

Hilarious.

people have been "talking" about it since the 70s but are you honestly acting like the context of this thread is not about the batshit insane lunacy that places like FOX and other nutty corners of the internet saying first-graders are being taught to hate each other and that all whites are evil no matter what ?

thats the issue and the post you quoted was spot on in that regard.

I think she's right about this one. We are teaching kids that racism is mainstream.

Right-wing nonsense as usual.
