Arkansas farmers are pleading with US government to save them — many face bankruptcy.

Yes, other factors... like rising inflation and climate change. You MAGAs tired of all that winning, yet?
Inflation was much higher during the entire four years of the Biden pukes. But somehow, the low Trump inflation is the culprit. Right.

And it wasn't "climate change". It was weather disasters.

That includes some of the worst weather on record, like the terrible flooding [2] that killed more than 100 people across multiple states in April.
That storm also destroyed over 260,000 acres of arable farmland and resulted in $78 million in damages to crops, namely rice, according to estimates [3] by the University of Arkansas’ Division of Agriculture.

Are you competing with the OP to see who can spin this story the most?

I'll add the 4+ million people who will go without meals due to cuts to the SNAP program or the millions of adults who will lose health insurance due to the cuts in Medicaid. This is a tragedy for all concerned. But I will still say, many of them put themselves in this position.
Unfortunately, some also put their families - their own children - in this position. And all of them put their communities at risk.

It has been a rough few years. No doubt. And you may be right about the bifurcation of this country breeding large scale violence. But I doubt it. We are too decadent for that. Too soft, too pacified, too ruled by our narcotics (both chemical and screen algorithms). All we will do is YELL AT EACH OTHER just like that.

Trump does not become President unless we, as a culture, are finished. But we aren't going to fight about it. That would take vitality.

So the answer for me, and I fail terribly quite often, is to be kind. That is all I can do.

Being mean costs nothing. So does being kind.
I'll always be kind to you, boo

Because we were fighting a global pandemic. Or did you already forget? Inflation dropped precipitously during Biden's term. Your Dear Leader's idiotic policies are threatening to bring it back.

And it wasn't "climate change". It was weather disasters.

Weather disasters caused by climate change.

Well, the writer of that slanted story isn't even as much of a biased Trump hater as this thread's OP.

According to the article, there are multiple factors in play here...not just the tariffs.

Well whatever all the factors, at least we are in America’s golden age now. 👍

As the farmers are forced out, and losing their incomes, John Deere has found itself in desperate straits, and is probably going under.

Trump idiots were told this would happen with his tariffs, but they need to be hit in the head to wake up. Maybe.

John Deere is suffering massive losses due to Trump's tariffs, and is the kind of industry that Trump SAID he'd be bringing back to America. Such a scam.
Actually, Deere & Company has been through worse times in agriculture (the 80’s) and they’re positioned to weather the current storm just fine. They have the technology, the efficiencies, and they’re more global than ever. They own their own captive finance company, and that part of the business isn’t hurting, either. In the U.S., dealership consolidations have been ongoing for years and local dealers are much less vulnerable to failure than ever before.

The company has been around since 1837, and it would take a prolonged catastrophe to put even a slight dent in their prospects of existing. I know that because I retired from Deere almost five years ago after almost thirty-four years of service, and because my father was a career Deere employee, I’ve known the company from the mid 1960’s. Trust me, my excellent pension and retiree benefits are in no danger of disappearing, either.

Definitely the tariffs are putting a dent in sales and profits, and like you, I see this idiocy of tariffs somehow bringing back manufacturing to the U.S. as a load of crap. Penalizing companies like Deere who have numerous factories and facilities in the U.S. is ridiculously bad policy.

Just watch. Trump will give a big old handout to farmers just like he did in his first term.

Because we were fighting a global pandemic. Or did you already forget? Inflation dropped precipitously during Biden's term.
The pandemic was all but over by the time Biden was installed in the Oval Office...but inflation skyrocketed the moment he sat down behind the Desk.

The only reason inflation dropped at all during his term is because of the Fed increasing the Prime Rate higher and higher, which stifled the economy.

Your Dear Leader's idiotic policies are threatening to bring it back.
Only because our corrupt courts are preventing Trump from fully implementing his policies and because the Fed refuses to unleash our economy.

Weather disasters caused by climate change.
Nonsense.

Weather disasters have happened in Arkansas long before anyone even thought about "climate change".

The April 2025 Arkansas flooding was severe—but not unprecedented. Here's how it stacks up against historical benchmarks:

🔍 Key Takeaways

  • Deadliness: 2025’s toll of 16 fatalities is tragic but lower than the catastrophic 1927 and 2010 events.
  • Economic Impact: While full damage assessments are ongoing, early reports suggest widespread infrastructure and agricultural losses, especially in the Delta region.
  • Historic Firsts: Little Rock received its first-ever Flash Flood Emergency in April 2025, underscoring the storm’s intensity.
  • Federal Response: Like past major floods, the 2025 event triggered a federal disaster declaration and emergency funding.
In short, while not the most devastating in Arkansas history, the April 2025 flood ranks among the more serious events of the past century—especially in terms of geographic spread and compounding hazards (tornadoes + flooding).

Weather disasters caused by climate change.
So far, Trump’s second term has much lower inflation than any time during Biden's one term in office. That's a fact.

The ONLY Reason things are not worse...

Is because most other world leaders are not impulsive babies like Trump.

If every other nation went full retaliatory mode, we'd be in deep shit.

It's so cute that you believe your stating something and concluding with, "That's a fact" convinces the rest of us to accept your uncorroborated claim.

(Btw: Biden had to contend with the global pandemic and its shutdown. Trump's 2nd term doesn't have the same conditions.)

It is a fact. Biden’s term had worse inflation overall with an average year-over-year inflation rate at approximately 4.95%.
Trump isn't near that rate after nine months in office. I think it's cute you deny facts.

**** you and **** you.

This is what you voted for.

This is what you wanted.

So go eat a bag of dicks, you don't deserve a red ****ing cent.

P.S. I do feel for those who were smart enough not to vote for this disaster.
From the article:
Practically everything has gone wrong for Arkansas farmers in 2025. That includes some of the worst weather on record
That's Trump's fault, too?
