Argue the other side.

How many terrorists hijacked a plane in america last year? Yet we have invasive laws to help prevent that very rare event. You are MUCH more likely to be shot.
Personally I don't think they would put much effort in hijacking a plane again.

I have been carrying since I was about 30. Most of my "gun-averse" friends don't know it to this day. Don't know how they would react, and I don't intend to find out.
You don't intend to find out? What if by chance you had to use it or they just got a glimpse of it for whatever reason. Come clean man,if they can't handle it
they must not be to close. OR they might take an interest. IMO.;)

Uh....that's nice. You are making the case that you don't need a gun
Then I shall immediately remove all fire extinguishers from my home.
And start removal of all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Dinner 'being done' dose not justify smoke detectors.

You will be busy. Get er done!

That's right. I'm not advertising to either the good guys or the bad guys. It's kinda like a party; better when it's a surprise!

If I had to use it, I am still likely to keep quiet (and concealed), until it becomes necessary to draw and fire. At that point, I doubt that secrecy is going to be high on my priority list.

As of today, after nearly 40 years of carrying, noone (to my knowledge) has "got a glimpse" yet. If it happens, it happens.

Come clean man, if they can't handle it they must not be too close. OR they might take an interest. IMO.;)

Thanks for your advice. I already know the ones who "might take an interest"; since we discuss shooting from time to time. For the rest, not knowing gives them a bit of peace, and the world can always use a little more peace.

And I suppose, at least according to vegas giants, you wouldn't need health insurance or fire insurance either.

Especially now that the passengers realize it's not just a trip to Cuba anymore. Any hijacker fool enough to try to take over an airplane isn't going to last five seconds. It doesn't matter if they're armed or not.

Every adult American that is trained, law abiding and sane and can prove it to the satisfaction of the government should have the right to own whatever gun they want but not anywhere they want or any time they want

Go to a communist country then. America is a free land

Not long after 9/11 there was some bozo who tried to light up his shoe, which was supposedly packed with explosives, on an airplane. Fortunately he was stopped by passengers.

No thanks. LOL

If you choose to live in the USA than you are choosing to live in a free country where people have gun rights. Your choice but if you do make the choice you've got to take the whole package.

I am also choosing to live in a country that is run BY THE PEOPLE and we have a voice in setting up what limits we want to have for ANY RIGHT.

THAT is the whole package

As long as they don't violate the BOR.

Yeah. I liked that one. This guy apparently doesn't fly much. Did you ever bend over to tie your shoes while sitting in an airplane seat? Personally, I think they should have tested his shoes by driving him out to the middle of nowhere, light his shoes for him, and drive off. Seeya in the next life!

The United States is not a democracy, dude. It is a federated republic. We have constitutions here.
