I'm speaking of the U.S. Military actually being stationed in a foreign country and fighting a war (however we fought it)?

Yes. I have 3 sons and now I don't have to worry about them being sent to fight a useless and pointless war.

I'm glad about parts of our being at war being over, and sad about other things about it, but most of all regret that we didn't even try to do it right at the top levels (while the soldiers are not to blame for that, with many making heroic efforts).

Absolutely. Never should have been there in the first place. It’s heartbreaking that so many young men and women had to give their lives for such a pointless mission.

Noting the Score: 175 dead to exit--nutcase caused, (mostly not GOP). 75% of the occupation was paid for by the Party of Lincoln: Loading up the AK47's, heading over the river and through the woods, to the festival celebrations--lining up on both sides of all the tables, opening fire upon one another!

"Crow< James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Hard to spot the problem through all of the prayers: Matt 25: 14-30, No Lives Matter!)

Do you really think the war on terror is over?

Misguided? Yes.
Totally pointless? I'm not so sure but perhaps that is a factor of me not wanting to accept we lost 2,000 American lives and spent 3 Trillion dollars for nothing.

Not like this. On the way out the door, America's blood vengeance slaughtered the majority of a family, killing 7 children. What a sick way to end a sick war.

If someone can point me to something…anything positive that came out of our 20 years there, I’m happy to retract that wording.

Glad we're done with that mess. Not to worry though, I'm sure the weapons manufacturers are thinking of some other disaster, in order to make some long-green..

Depends upon how you view it I suppose. If you see Afghanistan as a front line in a larger war on terrorism, it wont be good if it turns out we surrendered before they did

Canada is just asking for it

You mean the larger war on Muslims. Just say it already.

There was never a follow-up to 9/11

Bin Laden did exactly what he set out to do. He poked the bear, the bear came charging into the Middle East guns ablazing. Trillions wasted, thousands of Americans dead, the Middle East in shambles (exacerbating terrorism), America's moral authority utterly decimated in the million+ of civilians killed through collateral damage.

What did America get out of it? A big fat goose egg. Nothing. Less than nothing. Hell, you'd need ladder just to reach 'nothing'.

Seems to me like America's been kicking its own ass for the past 20 years.

None of that is true, but you sure seem to believe it

I wont say it because thats not what it was.

Yeah, that's cute. Of course its a war on Muslims. Your dear orange leader sees no difference between the Afghan allies who helped America and the Taliban and ISIS. Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran... it's all the same to you guys. If they don't bend the knee (a la Saudi Arabia), they get the stick.

Trump began the process that ended the war. Or werent you aware of that?

is that a "no"?
Your OP is a false premise. The war is not over. If you asked the question "Are you happy we left Afghanistan" my answer is no.
