I decided to start a thread on this. I am sick of hearing that Hispanics are supporting Trump/Republicans in droves.
Other than Cuban's in Florida, I don't see Hispanics supporting Trump/Repub's
Let's go back to only about 7 months ago during the 2018 midterms to the state of New Mexico where there is the highest % of Hispanics of any other state. The DEMOCRAT senator won big time.
The Dem senator got a "D" rating from NumbersUSA on immigration.
I have been hearing for years that the Hispanics in New Mexico were against illegal immigration etc(Rolling eyes).
What a bunch of BS

Anyone who thinks a large number of Hispanics are anywhere near supporting Trump is delusional. Of course, I can't speak for any Hispanic other than myself and the people I know but the ones I do know are very vocal about not supporting him. Many of us have been told our whole lives to "go back where we came from" and we are not ever going to support someone who endorses and promotes that kind of hurtful rhetoric.
I have "heard" the following:
1. Hispanic people are on path to becoming the majority ethnicity in this country.
2. Hispanic people are, generally speaking, culturally conservative.
3. The Dems are currently culturally liberal.
4. In the future, it is possible that many Hispanic people will vote Republican.
5. The Dems in the future cannot take the Hispanic vote for granted, as it currently does.

In My opinion, the Hispanics who are voting are citizens, and not much more concerned about immigration
than anyone else. They see the economy doing well, and everyone who wants to work, can get a decent paying job.
Education levels have been increasing, and with education comes the ability to look beyond the rhetoric,
and see which sides policies are better overall for the things that matter, like providing for one's family.
Demographics change, why should we expect them not to?

Seriously, don't you remember the words Trump had for Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria? Those residents are still recovering on parts of that island and next month it will be three years since that disaster. There's more than 2 million Puerto Ricans in Florida alone that are registered voters. The number of Hispanic registered voters in Florida has increased 6.2% since the 2016 presidential election, to a record 2.1 million people.
Hurricane Maria forced many Puerto Ricans to come to the U.S to. live with relatives or friends after Hurricane Maria because they lost everything, had no place to live. If all those people register to vote, in addiction to the already millions of Puerto Ricans in this country, they will never vote for Trump because of the treatment Trump gave them. Puerto Ricans are the second-largest Latino group nationwide, after Mexican-Americans. And, no-hell-no, they will not be voting for Trump in 2020.
If the current ratio is 70:30 that is to be expected, but it would wrong to assume it will always stay that way!(LOL)
Well, this was only 7 months ago?

Hispanics will be the majority in the US, we might as well embrace it!
The question is will the Hispanics vote as a unified block, and the answer is of course not,
they are a bunch of individuals like everyone else, and will vote for who they perceive is best
for their themselves. This sometimes means seeing beyond the empty promises of the Democrats
paying lip service to minorities.

What I think is BS, is assuming all Hispanics support illegal immigration.
The older generation is more culturally conservative. The older generations are dying off.
Well, They seem to support it by their VOTING in New Mexico, Calif and Texas
What do those states all have in common?
Mucho Hispanics!(LOL)
Just so I understand your position. The way to win over Hispanic voters is to support illegal border crossing. Have I got that right?

No it's not
Yes, thanks to past and present VAIN politicians as a result of a VAIN citizenry. Is this all the Americanism you have in you?
Yep, they're "selfish" like everyone else
I would say the difference is that states such as Florida who have legal Cubans living in the state, favor Trump more than the states who have a bunch of illegals living in the state. By the way, in case you didn't know, Florida is very rich in electoral votes and has a few more than New Mexico does.
