NEW YORK (AP) -- New York City's crackdown on big, sugary sodas is staying on ice.
An appeals court ruled Tuesday that New York City's Board of Health exceeded its legal authority and acted unconstitutionally when it tried to put a size limit on soft drinks served in city restaurants.
The state Supreme Court Appellate Division panel upheld a lower court decision that had delayed the measure before it took effect in March.

Good! That was too much big government interference. That's +1 for the people.
And the city is appealing the decision. They should be ashamed of themselves wasting taxpayer money on such foolishness.

While I think it's a good idea to limit how much of that crap you drink, and while it and other crap we consume, contributes to obesity and illnesses that costs all of us a lot of money, a mayor shouldn't be telling how much of something people can have. He's not a parent. So we agree.

Activist judges!
That is just plain moronic. The turd in the mayor's office needs constant swirlies from the courts to cure him of his napoleonic delusions
I was quoting you, so of course it's moronic.
Activist judges!
LMAO, that was my first thought when I read the snippet online. For all 'conservatives' whine about activist judges striking down laws 'without accountability' here is an example of the courts striking down a law the 'conservatives' don't like so it is all honky dory!
Then of course the 'wasting taxpayer money' is trotted out when it seems the GOP and 'conservatives' spend endless taxpayer dollars voting to repeal Obamacare (Boehner says don't judge the House on new laws passed but on the number they repeal- so far they seem unable to do either) or endless cycle of states passing laws the courts strike down and then the follow-on appeals that change nothing but the amount of OUR money spent.
But it is nice to see their constant tirade of 'activist' judges supporting government over reach gets a, if only temporary, sock in it...eace
Where have I said activist judges on this thread or any others in say the time since you joined this forum. Looks like yet another lie from HOJ
It's the total intellectual bankruptcy of conservatism. Look at turtle's post -- I was quoting him!
Keep pretending, Turtle. We love it.
Next he'll tell you how big a pizza you can have.
feel free to find a quote. Someone who claims to be as intelligent as you do should have no trouble finding one of my posts since October 2012 that complains about "activist" judges
All of your posts are in the Library of Congress, so we'll need a little time ...
Activist judges!
have at it dude. Activist judges is not a term I tend to use much.
The city will lose, and the people will win.

Do you believe any court ruling to be appropriate?

You just admitted you used it.
