It was legally inane and irresponsible, but it is far too great a stretch to say that the figleaf he tried to make led to her being almost murdered, JustAFella. The danger to Representative Ocasio-Cortez and Congress was real. But Ted Cruz did not create that danger.

He didn't directly order anyone to kill her. However, he did promulgate the lies and animosity that resulted in the attack on Congress. And after the attack, he offered comfort and cover to Trump and his supporters, by objecting to the certification, and then impeachment.

Cruz has already said he wants to move on from the Capitol insurrection -- even though he literally spent years investigating Clinton for Benghazi....

Worst of all, Cruz knows better. He's not a moron. He's highly educated in the law and the Constitution. That means he is making these choices not to protect the nation, but to gain power, by winning over Trump supporters.

Perhaps from the safety of our desk chairs and couches, we can be calm and say that AOC is being harsh. But there is little doubt that if the rioters had caught her, she would have been injured, if not killed. If I were in her shoes, I'd be supremely pissed off at Cruz.
