There are all kinds of stories out there regarding anti-Trump protesters insulting, assaulting and generally harassing those who came to witness Trumps inauguration in peace.

This is what happens when government leaders preach an "everybody is a winner" mentality. This is what happens when "participation trophies" become the norm.

You're right about violent protests, you're wrong about government preaching "everybody is a winner" and "participation trophies (whatever that means)" being the cause of it. What are humans most naturally inclined to when they see someone they (falsely or otherwise) view as their enemy?

Can't Trump keep his followers from melting from the heat of the protests?
 

I think the issue is something else.
For one, there the he is a fascist/Hitler, with the "Putin puppet" nonsense and the claims of lack of legitimacy have combined so that a lot of people believe they are fighting a fascist.

I mean, if you believed the new President was all those things, you'd probably want to resist too.
That's why it's so horribly irresponsible to say stupid **** like that.

I totally acknowledge that it includes WBC holding up signs at Obama's inauguration and some guy with "Joker" signs. The march at the 2009 inauguration protest seems to be more an anti-Israel thing than an anti-Obama thing so they probably aren't right wingers.

I'm not sure who the New York Red Front that protested FDR was but, like the anti-Israel protesters, I'm pretty sure they weren't right wingers.

Hmm....do you really consider throwing rocks through store windows and assaulting people "protest"? If so, do you consider it to be "peaceful assembly" as protected by the Constitution?
 
Tomorrow will be the true test ---- I will participate in the Ann Arbor march in the early afternoon and will report on it later in the day.
 

I'm completely support their right to protest (even though I think it's useless and hurts the Left more than helps, IMO) but when people start getting violent, that's where I draw the line.

But it's not the government that's causing this. Violent protests happen all the time, and in plenty of other countries.

Those people are just very angry, and they see Trump as the enemy. But like most violent protests, it doesn't help their postion at all. As I mentioned earlier, it just makes them and the Left as a whole look bad.

I was channel surfing between C-Spam, CNN, and (dare I say it) Fox News, and all seemed normal. Then I turned to MSNBC and they're showing wall to wall protests.

The peaceful all accepting tolerant far left progressives are demonstrating how the peaceful transfer of power should be done, in their view.

MSNBC (more accurately Ms. Maddow) to their credit, did state that it was a small group of protestors, and not a large group. However, they also said that this was going on in San Francisco and other large cities.

Just my opinion - lock their ass up if they can't be civilized and peaceful when protesting. The 1st amendment doesn't protect insurrections or riots, and that's what I see on my TV right now.

Yes! Blazing heat indeed. The high point of the coverage were the all-to-brief shots of gallant and noble protesters. One - could it have been you Rick? - in a breathtaking act of unbridled bravery turned over a street garbage bin! No! Better than that he slammed it to the ground, where it rolled for a foot or two! This dramatic event will forever grace the annals of the fight against racism and capitalism. I will never forget it.

True, special dependent class snowflakes have been thowing violent tantrums for decades.
 




It's kinda ironic to be doing violence, and damage, protesting a lawful transfer of power in the name of anti-fascism....
 

The left wing, including the Obama administration, spent the last 8 years setting Americans against each other based on race, economic status, gender, and whatever else came along. They had, for all practical purposes, a "zero tolerance" policy when it came to even the smallest items of disagreement with their agenda. That same attitude is what we are seeing displayed in the DC protests yesterday and today.

I'll grant the left wing this much, they have been adopted by various anarchist groups which are likely the instigators of much of the violence. That being said, the effort of the left to rid themselves of that kind of "protester" or to disassociate themselves from those protesters has not been readily evident.

Attacking the source of your oppression v. attacking random stores and people that have nothing to do with it. Hmmm...

It is however interesting that you think anything going on here the founders would approve of.
