Antarctica gains ice for first time in decades, reversing trend of mass loss, study finds (3 Viewers)

But then Gore is bat shit crazy, as are most in the man-made climate change cult. They need to relax. Climate change is a natural occurrence and rather than shitting bricks, we just need to adapt.

Yes, adapt to the flooding of major global cities and vast areas turning into deserts.

Great plan.

Well this is embarrassing for alarmists ... What does Al "The ice caps will be gone in four years" Gore say ?
Do the work and find out the answer, if you really want to know.

In the meantime, global warming - I refuse to pretty it up for skeptics by using the not-so-scary term "climate change" - is proceeding.

If a sports team has lost every game for 20 years and then has a winning season will you claim that's a successful team?

Climate change is just a gift for power, control, and money.

And Time Magazine told us a while ago we were about to enter a new ice age.

If the gulfstream ends the UK is super duper screwed.
We will be covered by an ice shelf.
Take a look at other countries at the same latitude as the UK and see the difference in climate.

You aren't even good at trolling.

So, you're saying good or bad events that happen during a person's Presidency and are attributed to that particular POTUS is "trolling".

You could be on to something here....

Or die.

Which is what would have happened had we been around when some of those cycles peaked.

"Climate change" or "Global warming" or whatever fake alarmists call it is a joke. Its most used as a wedge issue and/or justification for big government woke intervention (omg minorities are effected disproportionately by climate change! Tax "the rich" so we can save them!)

If these alarmists were really serious about climate change they'd be advocating for nuclear power and freaking out about China and India building even more coal plants. If the earth faces an existential crisis then we must bomb the coal plants ...... crickets.

The UK is going all in on nuclear power and renewable energy.
We're building the most expensive nuclear power station ever with another of the same type about to start construction and are holding a competition to build a fleet of new mini nuclear reactors as well.

The sums of money involved are mental.

A surprising shift is underway at the bottom of the world. After decades of contributing to rising sea levels, Antarctica’s massive ice sheet has started growing again — at least for now.

A study published this week in Science China Earth Sciences finds that the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS) experienced a record-breaking mass gain between 2021 and 2023, largely due to anomalous increases in precipitation. The rebound is especially significant in East Antarctica, where four major glacier basins had previously shown signs of destabilization.

Interesting, but I'm not sure how this is possible considering what Al Gore and other climate alarmist have been telling us. The climate is historically cyclic.
Is MAGA ever going to stop falling for this trick??

Keep denying reality. Many people do that when faced with something that is not only unpleasant but also is not easily-mitigated. Many people simply give up. Others thank their lucky stars they will miss the coming nasty effects.

SOME figure out ways / possible methods of trying to mitigate the worst effects. SOME people feel they have a duty to do what they can to try to mitigate the worst effects for their children, their grandchildren...for everyone's descendants. Unfortunately, not enough people choose to try to help themselves and others in this way.

Maybe our efforts to stem the tide of climate change is working.

We can only hope.
The UK has now closed every coal fired power station and become the first nation to do so.
We were the first to use coal for power and the first to stop.

Not bad for a small island in Northern Europe.

Hey, its gotta be done right? Spend that money! Go into more debt!

Are you willing to go to war with china and india? if not, your words are just monkey spanking.

I wonder if the climate nuts will accept the truth?

Interesting non-response from one of our MAGA members to my post about trying to mitigate some of the worst effects of global warming: @TobyOne postulates the United States having to go to war against China and India. Has this cult member taken to heart trump's words about waging wars against Greenland, Denmark, Panama, and Mexico (and maybe Canada)?

Hey, its gotta be done right? Spend that money! Go into more debt!

The alternative is?

The UK was a huge coal prducer for 50 years but we only have so much as the UK isn't massive.
We now need a new form of power and we've decided nuclear is the best way to back-up renewables.

The UK is actually pretty good at building nuclear reactors as we built some of the first reactors and Rolls Royce build reactors for our nuclear subs.

The UK is not going to run out of wind in the North Sea and it'sperfect for offshore wind farms which is why companies have raced to build the worlds largest offshore farms there.

Scientists warn, however, that this shift doesn’t mean the climate crisis is over. The gains were linked to unusual precipitation patterns, which may be temporary

From the article linked.

Seems like the East gained ice due to unusual rain patterns. Now the question is, were they just happenstance rain patterns, or a new trend? And if a new trend, what is driving it and is it a good thing for humans or bad?

Why would we go to war with either?

The UK has a wonderful relationship with India as it's part of the Commonwealth and the UK has a vast Indian population of fantastic people.

Nobody has cared about the UK since 1780s or so.

As does the USA, but let's don't mention that....
