You’re right that isn’t rocket science. US law requires that asylum must be applied for from within. It would be nice if asylum seekers could apply through a US Embassy or Consulate in their home country, but US law does not allow it and to change that requires an act of Congress.

The judge is right. Yes, we do have immigration laws, and laws that cover asylum seekers, and Trump has been breaking those laws.
