It's not clear who put up the posters and flags

Yet further down in the article it says something different:

Some on social media are calling for the teacher who put up the flags and posters to be fired

They first say it isn't clear who put them up then suggest it must have been the teacher

If you look at the comments further down the article made by the students themselves, they are generally supportive of the teacher.

Then there is the fact that the Daily Mail is akin to the National Enquirer, it likes to publish "sensational" news, if this was such a big deal it would be a headline on more respectable news outlets.

AND finally, this article gives an opportunity for some folks to get all riled up, so they feel inclined to pop onto discussion boards and yell "Commies!"

every generation thinks the one following ours is going over the edge, my parent's generation thought my generation was going to shit when I was in highschool and we had an openly gay teacher and our reading material included "Catcher in the Rye." OMG - you should have heard the bleating by some parents back then too.
this f**k the police is going a bit overboard in my opinion and it paints all police with a broad brush, but the gay and BLM flags don't offend me. America is one angry country right now, so this kind of over the top rhetoric is bound to happen, but yeah, the attack on the police is going too far.
what to do about is the other question - do what parents have always done, protest to the school or school board, or remove your kids, make a public scene if necessary to embarrass the school, but I wouldn't be chanting "Commies", that is for sure.
