In a stunning turn of events, the judge in the defamation suit by Michael Mann versus Mark Steyn has issued a one-two punch against Michael Mann and his legal team.

Last week the judge lowered Mann's award from $1,000,000 to just $5,000 because Mann had failed to justify his claimed losses from Steyn's accusation. So that put Mann in a deep financial hole, no longer winning enough to even scratch the surface of is legal fees.

Now this week the judge has circled around with an even bigger blow, in a very long ruling the Judge has concluded that not only did Mann not prove the damages, but he and his legal team made knowingly false claims in court regarding those damages. The judge then authorized Mark Steyn to sue Michael Mann and his lawyers for Steyn's own legal fees.

Mann has the deep pockets of the Climate alarmist machine funding it all, so I hope for his sake they agree to pay Steyn's legal fees now rather than incur an even larger bill appealing the ruling that they will lose. Mann and his team would be absolute idiots to want to drag their malfeasance back through the courts.

Oh, and I apparently missed the news that Mann is already on the hook to pay the legal fees of The National Review to the tune of $530,000

What an absolute disaster for Michael Mann. He'll end up OWING a million dollars.

Also the irony isn't lost on me that the latest ruling by the judge was based on charts that Mann and his legal team presented to the jury that were, it turns out, based on fake data.

Mann is just a college educated charlatan and it is good to see karma catch up to him.

They think they are smart enough to fool everyone.

They think they are smart enough to fool everyone.

They've had the majority of the last 20 years shopping their lawsuits through friendly courts and thinking that is the way it will always be.

When you can't attack the science, you attack the people, eh right wingers?

You do exactly that all the time. What is your view on Judith Curry again? Tim Ball? Richard Lindzen, Roy Spenser, John Christy, Roger Pielke, William Gray, etc....

The list goes on and on of the scientists you attack.
