President Biden should be working to talk to Russia leadership, put forth our expectations and the consequences of doing things like interfering in other countries' elections, killing people for speaking out against the government of Russia, trying to invade other countries, etc. Proposing a summit in no way shows weakness.

They are putting sanctions on Russia, that is the point. My point was that the only thing that we should be concerned about was not just Ukraine.

Context and people/countries involved matters. Russia is a superpower, there is no denying that and, while they are being led by a despot, they aren't quite to dictatorship yet and they hold a lot power in the world. North Korea is a real dictatorship but they have no real power. They already are facing sanctions and every attempt to deal with them leads to them taking advantage of the press and then not doing anything at all in the name of actually making a deal. This means it only benefits them. Russia recognizes that their power also is a weakness when it comes to the world stage. They have to worry about how the world views them, whether they are worth doing business with.
