A corporatist Democrat is almost guaranteed to have a view such as, 'Bernie is too extremist left to ever get elected', 'the right would never vote for him'. They are the biggest enablers of oligarchy and opponents of good policy, the dupes of the "oligarch-lite" part of the party. What if we oppose Sanders because he is a carpet bagger? "Oh no, I am not a democrat" followed by "I am a democrat so I can get their resources for my attempt to win an election" followed by after he loses again "I am not a democrat". Maybe next election he should not try and steal resources from real democrats.

Predictable lack of interest from those corporatist Democrats.

However literally true it may or may not be, they might imagine that the primary job of the corporatist Democrats isn't to win power, but to prevent the election of people who actually represent the American people, on behalf of oligarchs, giving people who won't vote for Republicans a false choice to vote for instead. It's working like a charm.
