The preserve is describing this as an "accident" but I'm pretty sure the tiger has a different take.

An associate of Joe Exotic was killed by a tiger under his care at his animal preserve in southeastern Oklahoma, according to the preserve.

Ryan Easley, the operator of Growler Pines Tiger Preserve near Hugo, died on Saturday, Sept. 20 in what the preserve described as "an accident."

Easley was previously observed whipping and hitting tiggers with a stick during training sessions.

If you don’t beat tigers with a stick then you’ll have less chance of having an “accident” like that. ;)

Hugo, Oklahoma has a long history of being the off season home for circuses.
The cemetery has a section just for former circus workers, the headstones are really unique.

Why on Earth would you "train" tigers in a zoo?
For public admission shows. That's how the zoo made money.

The man killed in this topic, Ryan Easley, was killed during a show.

If your training method is "hit tiger with stick", I don't think you will get a very obedient tiger, but rather a very pissed one. And I don't think zoos should be in the business of these kinds of circus shows anyways.

Doesn't say how many tigers they keep in the 25 acres but I doubt that's enough for even one. No wonder one got grumpy.
Am I correct in assuming that this beautiful animal has to be put down now? What a shame.

Tiger is King.

Not necessarily.
What a shame.
It would be. The tiger was only doing what comes naturally.

Tiger is King.
There's a rescue center in the US that has a bear, tiger and lioness together and they're all besties.

The keeper was asked during an interview what would happen if they stopped getting along.

Without hesitation he said the tiger would be the victor.
