They sell a fair share of units in Russia, but whether or not it makes sense to allow RuStore and their messaging app (MAX messenger) to be installed in all new phones. It may not be wise to have Apple do this, but it's more a question of whether it's feasible in terms of security.

On November 13, the State Duma of the Russian Federation passed in its first reading a bill that mandates Apple to allow the installation of the RuStore app store on iPhones and iPads within Russia.

Firstly, this was first talked about in 2024, secondly RuStore is apparently Android focused and most people will recognise that you can't put iOS Apps onto Android devices and vice-versa.

You know Rustore has one version developed for Android. It can be easily reproduced for Apple IOS platform . you need just to develop new IOS application that will be capable to install other IOS applications. Nothing mysterious anyway . The only problem is Apple itself , which must authorize creation of IOS version of RUSTORE.

And yet Apple has complied with all Kremlin demands to remove VPNs from availability on iOS devices so that Russian iPhone users can be traced and lose their privacy.

APPLE will most probably comply in this case too . I am not sure whether rustore ( iOS) will be available in other countries , but most certainly it will be available in Russia .
