Amid criticism over mail-in voting, Trump requests absentee ballot

Why is it so hard for liberals to Google "mail in voting vs. absentee voting"?

Why a whole thread dedicated to something you can easily look up yourself?

The answer, of course, is contingent upon your State of residence. To say that there is "no difference" across the board is to evince complete ignorance of the election process.

How are mail in ballots verified and counted versus absentee ballots?

Because the folks who are to lazy to vote in person over the years are majority Democrat. That is why Obama pushed mandatory compulsory voting. The Democrats will benefit far more that the Republicans with mail in voting expansion

The horror! Are you suggesting it would be bad for the country to be truly represented?

Of course. Politically ignorant voters tend to lean left.

My card carrying liberal brother has been at the USPS for over 30 years. He just text me and said the issue is the ballots go out in non-profit bulk rate and that is indeed backed up. However, the return ballot is 1st Class Class and prioritized. He said he didn't think this is an issue at all UNLESS, the cuts are in blue zip codes only.

You'll have to look that information up for the specific precinct you're interested in.

LMAO... Different precincts use different verification standards? What a load of crap... Tell us, how are absentee votes verified and counted in your state? How are mail in ballots verified and counted?

So what’s the difference? Besides the name, I mean.

You seem curiously unable to articulate it, despite your vast familiarity with The Google.

Mailing to every registered voter? The scoundrels!

And those who don't get one because they've moved can request a new one; those who can't sign their ballot and return it because they've died won't. Business as usual in other words.

It's always worked.

National mail in voting has never been done here, and it won't this time either. Just the democrat party's latest attempt to cause conflict and muddy the waters. Getting their excuses lined up. In any case where the GOP wins, it will surely be because of, Trump "sabotage", or "disenfranchising citizens". They do it every time they lose. When Gore lost it was "hanging chad cheating judges", when Trump won last time it was "Russia", and this time will be no different. I wonder why they want national mail in voting so desperately? Do you really trust the post office with 100 million ballots?

It's been done by a third of the electorate - more than enough to demonstrate it works.

Look at the areas targeted for postal service reductions: blue parts of Texas, Wisconsin, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania.

I don;t see a lot of solid red states in the crosshairs. Trump's targeting swing states to suppress the vote.

Ah yes, the old voter suppression excuse. Why is it every time the democrat party looses an election, they claim they were "cheated"? Have you ever wondered that? HRC is still making excuses. Stacey Abrams still won't concede. With Gore it was the "hanging chads", and taking it to court. Now, they want desperately to have a "national mail in election". Why? We can go to the store, the bar, the liquor store, but we can't take the chance and go vote. If one is elderly, has health issues, or whatever, they can vote absentee.

With all the brouhaha about mail and ballots, this may well be one of the most carefully watched over elections in the history of the country. That, in turn, will result in fewer opportunities for anyone to play games with ballots.

It's worth noting, by the way, that significant cases of ballot cheating were due to the shenanigans of our political parties, not individual voters.

Regards, stay safe 'n well. Remember the Big 3: masks, hand washing and physical distancing.
