Which I can only assume makes things difficult when trying to sell the Government Is The Solution bit

But which also enables Strongmen who promise to make the government 'heel'.

A handful of industries are those "love to hate" types of businesses, such as cable-television companies and Internet service providers.

The federal government has joined the ranks of the bottom-of-the-barrel industries, according to a new survey from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Americans' satisfaction level in dealing with federal agencies --everything from Treasury to Homeland Security -- has fallen for a third consecutive year, reaching an eight-year low...

"Satisfaction is linked to broader goals in the political system that it wants to maximize, like confidence and trust," said Forrest Morgeson, director of research at the ACSI. "It's much more difficult to govern if the entire population dislikes you."

Anti-establishment sentiments have been a big thing in this country since....the start.

Anti-government chic is one of our favorite fetishes.

It's like apple pie for us.

I think that the excesses of our Government have become so egregious that they can no longer "sweep things under the rug" and hide them. Military misadventure is becoming obvious. Misguided policies are producing negative effects. Lies to Congress, the people's Representatives, are blatant and unprosecuted. A foreign policy of US hegemony is backfiring all over the World. Government redistribution of the wealth to the top .01% is producing backflash. Militarized police forces kill more Americans than the Iraq War. We have more people in prison than any Nation on Earth. Our Military Offense budget is larger than the combined Military budgets of the rest of the World's Nations. We support scumbags, dictators, Islamic rebels, crooked banks, illegal spying on the citizenry, Military/security/Corporate economic incest, and the list could go on ad infinitum.

The median income is dropping and government is growing - what's not to love about that? ;)

Government hate is orgasmic.

There'd be a lot less government hate if they'd like actually do something in an effective and efficient manner or perhaps leading with some wisdom and statesmanship.

Seems that these things are just utterly and completely beyond the government's grasp, as they've demonstrated time and time again. So what's not to hate?

You've got the Cause and Effect Backwords!

Today, after 7+ years of Obama&Crew, The U.S. Government Hates the American People more than Ever!

Or, at least, some Segments of the American People. The Obama Administration views ALL through a hate tinted racial lens.

So much so, that it is seeking to import 10s of Millions of Mexican&Other Illegals, and 100s of Thousands of Hate-Filled Muslims, to replace them!

It is taxing the native born people to spend $55 Billion on "Syrian Refugees", who are neither Syrian, nor Refugees, while it cuts off the money to treat our wounded veterans.

It is spending $660 Billion a year on the Mexican&Other Illegals, but will not spend another dime for the 19.6 Million White-Americans living with incomes below the poverty level. On account of all of their Evil White-Privilege... of having been born into generations of Poverty... of Course.

Your title has the Hate direction ALL WRONG!

My favorite US statistic is that 90% of the people are dissatisfied with Congress but well over 90% of all congressional incumbents running for reelection win (rough numbers).

That's what it is. "They all suck! Well, except for my guy, he's alright."

Everyone claims to hate big government until they want something from it. Whether it is nicer roads and infrastructure, better phone/Internet access, protection from terrorists, Social Security/Medicare, unemployment, protection from illnesses such as the flu or ebola, preventing homosexual activities, imposing affirmative action, better public education, strong prosecution of drug offenses, etc., Americans actually love big government...so long as the government action is what THEY want.

Big government is only a problem with Americans if it is doing something they don't like.

It is only going to get worse. The more government grows in size and authority, the more likely we will see unrest from people refusing to be controlled to the extent that government desires. We already know that is true as government finds new methods to sidestep the Constitution in their distrust of the people very frequently, and the people end up distrusting the government in response. Left and right both, we are into this far enough that removal of just some parts will cause consequences.

Since any given voter has minuscule influence over only 3 of the 535 congress critters that is easy to explain. They like, or at least do not outright hate, their own congress critters but believe their claims to be powerless to change whatever the voters are complaining most about lately. The art of politics is to take credit for anything good and blame someone/something else for anything bad.

Ask them if they like Social Security; Medicare; college aide; national defense; interstate highways; national parks; food inspection, etc.

It reminds me of when people were polled about Reagan. He got high approval ratings. Then, they polled each of his policy positions and each were generally negative.

It really doesn't matter.

Americans just aren't big fans of the government.

It's not a bad thing most of the time. But, it can have its' costs as we see with our sluggish healthcare reform.

Also an example of manipulated statistics, look at the approval ratings for each individual member of Congress and none of them are at 90% dissatisfaction. People like thier individual members of Congress they just don't like that they don't get stuff* done.

If your job is to fix X then your job disappears should you actually ever fix X. Much of our government is designed to never fix anything and actually benefits (gets more funding and power) if things get worse.

hating government efforts like NPS, coast guard, army, air force, marines, air force and post office is just hating to hate

Here is another example of the Current Administration's Hatred for the U.S., and placing other "Cultures" above and at much higher importance than our own people and values.

U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan Allies

By JOSEPH GOLDSTEINSEPT. 20, 2015

KABUL, Afghanistan — In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.

The policy has endured as American forces have recruited and organized Afghan militias to help hold territory against the Taliban. But soldiers and Marines have been increasingly troubled that instead of weeding out pedophiles, the American military was arming them in some cases and placing them as the commanders of villages — and doing little when they began abusing children.

“The reason we were here is because we heard the terrible things the Taliban were doing to people, how they were taking away human rights,” said Dan Quinn, a former Special Forces captain who beat up an American-backed militia commander for keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave. “But we were putting people into power who would do things that were worse than the Taliban did — that was something village elders voiced to me.”

The policy of instructing soldiers to ignore child sexual abuse by their Afghan allies is coming under new scrutiny, particularly as it emerges that service members like Captain Quinn have faced discipline, even career ruin, for disobeying it.

After the beating, the Army relieved Captain Quinn of his command and pulled him from Afghanistan. He has since left the military.

Four years later, the Army is also trying to forcibly retire Sgt. First Class Charles Martland, a Special Forces member who joined Captain Quinn in beating up the commander.

“The Army contends that Martland and others should have looked the other way (a contention that I believe is nonsense),” Representative Duncan Hunter, a California Republican who hopes to save Sergeant Martland’s career, wrote last week to the

So, which is it?

Does the American People hate the Government... or....

Does the Current Government Hate the American People?

There is allot of Hate'n going on, to be sure, but which is the cause, and which is the effect?

Government has never been about the common good, at least on the federal level. It is about power and control. The more government you have, the more power and control it has and the less freedom we have. Yet the majority of people want it to do even more. It is a true head scratcher.

I don't hate anyone in particular in our government, but I sure as hell get mad at some of things that go on.

I don't hate liberals or progressives either, but I do like to tease them............and they me ;)

If I rejected all my liberal family, friends, and work associates............. I would end up a very lonely person.

I might hate Hillary a little.

I might hate Hillary a little.
Nothing wrong with that. Even Democrats hate Hillary. They just think she has the best chance of winning the Presidency. It's kind of like Mitt Romney in the last election.

Any many in the media and on the streets have come to recognize Obama's Hatred of America:

News flash? Obama hates America

Ben Stein Wonders If Obama Hates America Because 'He's Part Black'

Even Liberals Openly Admit Obama Hates Christians...

President Obama Evidently Hates America

And with the rise of the Imperial Presidency, ruling on high, like a king, by Pen&Phone and executive order, when the President Hates America, it is only natural that the people he abuses would return that hatred...

Who is the source of the Hatred, and who is just reflecting it?

I would rather have the apple pie...I REALLY like apple pie. Especially Dutch apple pie...

As for the OP. Yes. I hate dishonesty, fakery, campaign promises, and the faux sentiment for people that most of these rich bastards can't and never could have related to.

Now where's my pie?
