all this crap about background checks is worthless. criminals get most of their guns from other criminals or family members in straw purchases. the UBGC won't stop any of that.
and anyone who has even a passing familiarity with the war on drugs realizes how stupid trying to ban market driven activities are. with the cops and military losing thousands upon thousands of high grade weapons each year, even with a complete ban (like we have on cocaine, heroin, crystal meth and LSD) there will be a booming black market
Oh looky here. jmotivator talking to someone else and attacking me as a dodge yet again... go figure. lol
you don't know what I know or think. I've probably held and shot more weapons than you have or perhaps will so... do try to stay on topic. I know it's hard for you... but please try. powerob is NOT the topic.
I gave a scenario. You attacked the scenario as a dodge. Tell it to the gunman when it happens. "This isn't how this is supposed to happen. Let's start over."

I've only heard bits and pieces of the story. Seemed like lack of health insurance was a large part of the guy's frustration, as well as not having the ability to get out of poverty. Not that it's remotely an excuse.
<sigh>
What does Sean Hannity have to do with 2 loons in Vegas who have been on the hairy edge of psychosis for years who up and decide to kill 3 innocent people? Answer - nothing.
{sigh}
they were part of the militia {anti gubbermint} at the bundy ranch.
{sigh}
Hannity promoted the bundy cause.
{sigh}
But I'm not below calling a snake in the grass a snake in the grass.No, they weren't "part" of anything, Ajive. They showed up at the ranch, uninvited, and according to the shooter himself, they were shunned because of their radical anti-government stance. You can't attempt to distort facts to try to put this on Hannity.
You also know that Hannity promoted nothing but the cattle grazing situation. At no time, ever, did Hannity encourage people to kill innocent people. To deny that is nothing but still partisanship and left wing babble, and you're better than that.
But I'm not below calling a snake in the grass a snake in the grass.
I prefer the birds of a feather analogy best.
Is that true? I hadn't heard that.
And you're 1000% right. If these were (among) his reasons, neither one is an excuse.
Loons walk among us.

No, you made up an unrealistic scenario where in you told me that I was doing something that I wouldn't do and that no trained gun owner is trained to do and then tried to bait me into some answer to appease your ignorant understanding of how things works during a shooting. You are ignorant, and your scenario is stupid. Get over it. Neither I nor a fellow CC gun owner would be running around your imaginary Walmart with our guns drawn. That is what stupid people do. End of story.
Let's revise so that you don't think that it is unrealistic. Guy in a Walmart starts shooting. People scream and start running. Very few people saw it but everyone in there of course heard it. You have your gun along with 20 other people in there. What you do?
Is this unrealistic?

As always.
I guess then that mass shootings are just a myth. Nice dodge.
Not a damn thing if they were smart.
Those who carry concealed are not cops.
Their only goal is to protect themselves, not everyone else.
Protection of society is the job of police.
No comprehension.Wrong!
The Police are there to Arrest and Detain for presentation to the courts and justice system. They police rarely are present to perform the function of protection, that is the job of individual citizens.
We arm our police to allow them to Arrest and Detain the worst elements of our society, which the police have the unfortunate job of having to deal with routinely. But that interaction is almost always AFTER the events of violence and lawlessness toward common civilian citizens have already occurred.
We do NOT arm our police to protect our citizens, we arm them to protect themselves when cleaning up the mess after the crime.
Usually, the police are not present when the original crime takes place, so the role of protection falls to the citizens themselves.
The Police will not arrive until the event is over. Their job is not citizen protection at the instance of a crime, but to apprehend and detain, so that additional crimes are not committed.
Out on the mean streets, if you're waiting for the police to come "Protect You", you're meat for the grinder, and just another account of "xyz" crime at the time of court prosecution.
By the time the police arrive, who ever was going to become a victim, has been there for 5-10 minutes.
If you want to make yourself into a helpless sheople at the tender mercies of the lawless, go ahead and count on "Police Protection".
I'll Protect Myself and my family, and let the police do their jobs of apprehending and presenting to the court system. That's the job we armed them for,... Not Protecting the People.
Ask any good cop, and they'll tell you, protect yourself and your family, when off duty, that's exactly what THEY, the cops do! The Cops themselves do NOT rely upon on-duty armed police response to protect themselves and their families, they understand that is simply suicide.
