Life isn't a BS movie, eco. The reality is....
"...The couple then retreated to a nearby Walmart, fired a shot and warned everyone to get out. McMahill said Joseph Wilcox, 31, was in the store and was carrying a concealed weapon. Wilcox walked past Amanda Miller and confronted her husband. Amanda Miller then fatally shot Wilcox, McMahill said....."
Police release details of murderous Las Vegas rampage
If Joe Wilcox wasn't CCW do you think he would've had the guts to confront the Millers and get himself killed? It's always six of one andhalf a dozen of another.
Btw, since you keep mentioning that the couple were on drugs, where's the link to your source?
He did not witness the cops being killed. Had he, he would have ambushed them and ended the ordeal. What he did, while ignorant of the preceding, does not weigh upon those who witnessed the original event. This news serves to support my original statement: it's too bad someone in the restaurant wasn't carrying and shut them down.
You're trying to blame being armed for someone's murder. The guy made a bad call, he didn't realize what he was dealing with. He should have kept distance and observed with cover and a line of fire.
Yeah, he made a bad call alright. Shoulda, coulda, woulda...I think you're doing a pretty good job of blaming him yourself. Nobody knows who they're dealing with in those situations.....because it's not a movie...there isn't a script...and you can go back and do the scene over until you get it right.
I don't know why you're hung up on movies. I haven't been to a movie theater or owned a TV in over 15 years. So, you are certainly more indoctrinated in the "movie/TV culture" than I am.
If you see a cop ambushed, fire.
Las Vegas ‘revolution’ shooters ID’d as right-wing conspiracy nuts with a deathwish
Congrats to Sean Hannity and Alex Jones and all the other people that pumped up the Bundy love, two dead cops.
Watch the video of this jackball at the link, crying because he got arrested..again, shirtless...why do all the goobers like this go without shirts and cry like babies..it is like watching an episode of Cops.
Also, over on FR, they had a thread about these guys and their ties...but they closed it, and aren't talking about it. Hitting too close to home?
Geezus H. Christ. Sean Hannity?
You think Sean Hannity had anything to do with this? Unreal.
These were 2 anti-government neo-Nazi nuts. Stop using the deaths of innocent people to go after Sean Hannity.
Hannity championed the anti-government militias at Bundy ranch and the Millers were at Bundy Ranch. FoxNews, especially Hannity, giving the gun toting extremists a platform and egging them on makes FoxNews part of the story. So it should be kind of interesting to see what Hannity has to say about this.....or if he remains noticeably silent.
I posted that to beefheart, not you. I'm sure he's perfectly capable of answering himself. I have no interest in your comments on gun owners.

When anyone 'fires off a round in a store', or has a weapon in hand, verbal confrontation is not a valid option.

Can you keep context? We're talking about cops ambushed in broad daylight.
As I remember, there's always diaries, videos, scribbles in notebooks and other stuff going on long before the shooter goes active.
You can't really count ambushed victims. They don't have a chance.
The third victim WAS a concealed carry citizen and he did draw on the man, but was gunned down by the woman who had got behind him. The police are crediting the third victim as a hero.
The third victim was the first armed person the couple encountered with an opportunity to make a difference. We should all be thankful that man had the courage to draw his gun on a murderer.
Also, according to the reports, the Millers went to the Bundy Ranch because they hoped to be able to kill Police there. Their cop killing fantasy predated the Bundy standoff and had nothing to do with support for Bundy in his land dispute. That is like blaming Code Pink for the anarchists that show up to a protest and burn cars.
which is why they get caught more often than the spontaneous shooters. What you'll find difficult is to find a spontaneous bomber or water poisoning artist.
Another shooting due to moderate conservatives.
What recent shooter was spontaneous? The ones I remember had all kinds of plans for a long time before acting.
Sandy Hook comes to mind.

Inside Adam Lanza's lair: Newtown shooter plotted own death, obsessed with Columbine shooting, report details - NY Daily News“The evidence clearly shows that the shooter planned his actions, including the taking of his own life...
Sedenksy said Lanza smashed the hard drive of his computer before going on his killing spree and authorities might never be able to retrieve all the secrets he left there.
But among the “digital evidence” seized was a “five-second video (dramatization) depicting children being shot” and disturbing “images of the shooter holding a handgun to his head.” There were also “images of hamsters,” “images of Lego creations” and “large amounts of materials on firearms.”
ok... lets play the scenario game then.
You are in a walmart. You and 20 other people in the store are packing. You hear shots in the walmart down several aisles away. you and at least the 20 others pull their guns out... 20 people plus the bad guy has guns pulled and aimed. You see a guy with a gun and he sees you with your gun. Naturally, out of fear you both turn towards each other. What do you do?

It could have just as well been "videos of bombs killing people" and "large amounts of materials on explosives".
When you make these scenarios, you shouldn't tell me what I do. I would not draw my sidearm at the sound of shots several isles away. Likely I would become the wall to dodge the impending stampede. From that point I would be a good witniss.ok... lets play the scenario game then.

That's easy. You aren't trained to go running through Walmart with your gun drawn. You draw when you assess your target. Until any of those 20 people laid eyes on the shooters they would not have their gun drawn, so anyone who I see with their gun drawn would either know I am not the shooter -- because they saw the shooter and my gun was not drawn -- or would point their gun at me which means they are now a target.
Gun safety and Gun defense classes cover all of this. No trained gun owner would be so stupid as to whip out their gun in a situation like that and go running around the store.
