White House rips ‘hostile and political’ move by Amazon for displaying tariff costs
Amazon reportedly plans to display rising costs that are associated with tariffs for products on its websitewww.independent.co.uk
It's pretty standard practice in the United States for retailers to list sales taxes separately from the item price. Hotels/airlines often display other travel-related taxes too. Some states charge an excise tax on products like alcohol/cigarettes/marijuana which are also listed separately.
Why does the Trump Administration think his import taxes should be any different? Why is it "hostile" to display it, when Trump assures us this will be a great thing for America? If Trump isn't ashamed of it, then there's no reason for him to try to hide it.
