If you take the worst fear of what a Supreme Court Justice can be, people who get to be untouchable lifetime figures who get to order the Congress, the military, the president, and the American people at their whim, to override anyone else, who get to re-write the constitution to say it means whatever they want and who follow corrupt or overly ideological agenda in using that power, who are unaccountable terrors of power; people who have forgotten the limitations Justices are expected to follow to avoid being such monsters; you would find the current radical right Justices starting to approach and resemble that terrible type of Justice. They 'have the power', and they want to use it. They are groomed as radicals to overthrow the constitution following a radical ideology, with billions spent to groom and put them there, and they can't wait. They are radical right revolutionaries, essentially.
Nevermind how they got there. People tended to forget how Hitler came to power once he had it, they tended to forget how Bush 43 came to power once he had it.
I posted a very good speech by Sen. Whitehouse talking about the issue, which no one would watch, so I doubt there's much point in discussing this.
