Alan Dershowitz says every reputable attorney he's spoken with has told him their firms 'won't let them go anywhere near' Trump

the hits continue!

Alan Dershowitz, the lawyer who defended former President Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial, told Insider that most reputable law firms weren't letting their attorneys go anywhere near Trump as his legal issues snowballed.

"All big-firm lawyers have told me that their firms won't let them do it," Dershowitz said in an interview. "The firms won't let them go near any case involving Trump. These are firms that want to continue to have clients, and they know that if they represent Donald Trump, they'll lose a lot of clients."

Dershowitz spoke from experience.

After he represented Trump in his second Senate impeachment trial following the deadly January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, Dershowitz said he lost job opportunities and many of his speaking engagements.

"Everybody who has called me has shown reluctance to do it," he said. "They say their law firms won't let them do it. Their husbands or wives won't let them do it. Their children won't let them do it. Their friends won't let them do it, even though they want to do it."

Dershowitz said that since he represented Trump, at least six lawyers had asked him about what it was like working for the former president and whether it affected his career. In one conversation, when Dershowitz told another attorney about his experience being blacklisted, he said the person responded, "I'm not going near this with a 10-foot pole."
The attorneys that have represented him end up in prison or losing their law license and in the best case scenario they just don't get paid

And the malignant narcissist scumbag piece of shit grifter liar and seditionist attacks anyone who doesn't kiss his ring. Causing similar damage. **** him! Let him get a public defender.
That may be all he can afford once he actually has to pay his tax bills

He's correct.

The Trump haters ferociously attack anyone connected to Trump...even if it's a lawyer doing their job. Dershowitz knows about this first hand and others have also been on the receiving end of those attacks.
Lawyers want to be paid for their work, not stiffed.

It's not about getting paid. It's about being targeted by the left and blackballed from other work.
Not true at all, and you know it. It's about wanting to be paid.

The Dems reason this way: If you were a lawyer and a decent person, would you have defended H*tl*r? Would you defend P*t*n?

Of course, not.

Many Dems have convinced themselves that the Honorable Donald J. Trump is a combination of those two obscenities. (He kept their beloved Hillary from winning, didn't he?)

Any competent lawyer that defends The Donald would be blacklisted by the media, academia, and the Deep State. And their clients would flee in droves.
Ah...such a victim.

Can't say I find it hard to believe or surprising. It is par for the left these days to intimidate people into submission.

John Adams is turning over in his grave.

Take note that the ACLU remains silent. If anyone would be expected to say something about a person being denied the best defense possible it would be them.

The greatest thing Trump did was he upset the cockroaches so much that they have been coming out from hiding in droves.

The correct response by conseratives is to band together and boycott all things being run by progressives. Conservatives don't understand how they need to retaliate to put an end to this nonsense from the left.

Welcome to the forum, newbie.

Hey...you know what's worse than whataboutism? It's whataboutism combined with hyperbole, sarc or snark. It shows the poster only wants to spout nonsense and needs whataboutism to give him/herself an excuse.

You are dismissed.

What the lawyer left out- tRump stiffs those trying to defend his fat ass...

It's all about the money. His rep with paying bills is so bad all he can get is an insurance lawyer to represent him.

To hear the MAGA morons carry on- tRump is THE most popular and THE best President EVER... so the shysters should have MAGA work lined up. Heaven knows dozens of MAGA henchmen had multiple court dates in the wake of the 2020 election and multiple attempts to suppress the Will of the People... ✌️

No it is indeed about getting paid. Trump has a history of stiffing lawyers and contractors.
Bullcrap the attorneys want paid..Trump has a nasty reputation for not paying

Not true at all, and you know it. It's about wanting to be paid.

Same talking points, I see. That 'reputation' is much exaggerated, and there are ways around something like that (large retainer up front).

The issue is more being steamrolled by the left.

You have a very poor understanding about the ACLU or the law. You want the ACLU to force reputable attorneys to take trump as a client? Pshaw!
The ACLU should offer him representation
Let's look at Trumps lawyers

The kraken has been defeated

America's Mayor is broke

Trump seems to destroy his lawyers
Trump did not destroy his lawyers. Trump isn't who a attacking them.

So... it's a "talkin point" to want to be paid? I'm sure you have no problem NOT being paid for your work, right?

Maybe Barr is available apparently, he is out of work. Maybe Sessions?

I don't think it's the money so much as the fact that Trump is a lousy client. He doesn't listen. That and the fact although a lawyer is duty bound to represent a client to the best of their ability they cannot suborn perjury nor can they withhold or present false evidence. I truly believe there is very little defence for Trump if a lawyer abides by the rule of law and their obligations to the courts as a lawyer and reputable, experienced lawyers know this.

When I was "lawyering" I worked for several members of "Hell's Angels ®".

Were I still "lawyering" I would still take members of "Hell's Angels ®" as clients.

Why?

Because

[1] the members of "Hell's Angels ®" actually pay their bills in full and on time
[2] the members of "Hell's Angels ®" don't second guess counsel and do what they are told to do in order to minimize either conviction or sentence
and
[3] the members of "Hell's Angels ®" do not "retaliate" against unsuccessful lawyers (especially if the lawyer had told them how unlikely any success was going to be)

Mr. Trump does not meet any of those three criteria.

Accordingly, were I still "lawyering" I would not represent Mr. Trump.
Yup. Bad client. Worse human being.

The ACLU should offer him representation

First one, tRump's Constitutional rights are not being trampled like poor Defendents.

tRump is the one not paying them and sabotaging the defense. Defending a known maniac doesn't increase your esteem in the legal world... ✌️
