AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign [W:176]

Re: AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

again, no. he still lied, or forgot a meeting with the Russian ambassador. is the latter your argument?

I have already gone through this, however my argument is that Sessions answered the question in the context that he believed it was asked. He assumed that the idiot senator Al Franken was asking in the context of "as a Trump campaign surrogate. And let's face it, virtually all of the democrats in congress who have since come out and claimed that they never met the russians in the capacity of their jobs have been proven wrong. That includes both Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Considering that you are assuming that Sessions lied about meeting with the russians, are you going to apply the same standard to Pelosi and Schumer? Or did they just forget?

i'm not assuming that he lied about meeting with the Russian ambassador. he actually lied.

Re: AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

and yours doesn't qualify in the court of reality.

The reality is that no jury would convict Sessions of perjury over his answer to the moron senator's question. it would be virtually impossible to prove willful intent.

No...he actually did not. Context of the question does count.

we already agree on this point, because there are plenty of ways that he can worm out of his lie. however, it's still a lie.

You trashing Al Franken doesn't get sessions out of his lie, no matter what the hack Grassley said .

Re: AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

this is common throughout government changes this is nothing new and session is not going anywhere.

Unless Bannon fires sessions, since Bannon approved the firing of Bharara .

Nope. The same standards apply to the term "lie". To tell a lie you have to be intentionally telling a falsehood. Look up the definition.

I'd make a revision and remove "that he believed".

The question was clearly asked in the context of the 2016 Trump campaign, and was truthfully answered in the same context in which the question wask asked.

True.

Re: AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

This common even in local government.

For political appointed positions, when there's a change at the top, yes. It happens in towns, cities, counties, parishes, commonwealths, and states all across the US.

so your argument is that he forgot the meeting? if you want to dodge this question again, this discussion has concluded.

Re: AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

Anyone, other than me and HG, care to check to verify that this is what normally happens? Some of them will be reappointed, and some will be allowed to find alternate employment.

The hyper-partisan hysteria that erupts over every action taken by this administration is disheartening, to say the very least.

Think the hyper-partisan is worse then when Obama was in office?

No.......that is not my argument. I am just probing to see how politically biased you are. My argument is that Sessions answered the question in the context it was asked. No lie....no perjury. You are the one dodging for the sake of partisan bias against anyone connected to Trump.

i'm rejecting your dodge. he either forgot that he met with the Russian ambassador or he lied about it.

False. Those are not the only two options. In the context of the question and what they were discussing, his comment was accurate: as a surrogate for Trump he was not out there colluding with the Russians. He didn't forget that he met with the Russian ambassador, that meeting wasn't what he was referring to.

Re: AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

read the thread.

I have you haven't proven he lied you are simply stating an opinion.
While ignoring the questions he was asked.

He didn't talk to them about the election.

The second question is a bit more questionable but it is a bad question.
Still he didn't talk to russia in any capacity as part of the trump campaign.

So again he didn't lie.

You can ignore the questions that were asked but that is just dishonest.

Bingo. If you look at all the people that are complaining they are ignoring the context of the question on purpose.
