AG Bondi offers $50M for arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro

Good God, this administration is a ****ing cartoon. I mean the whole US political system is, at this point, but at least half of it is trying to make it look like a post-adolescent, half-functioning democratic republic.
 
For context:

"Today, DOJ and State are announcing a historic $50 million reward for info leading to the arrest of Nicolas Maduro. Maduro uses foreign terrorist organizations to bring deadly drugs and violence into our country. The DOJ has seized over $700 million in Maduro-linked assets, including two jets and nine vehicles. Maduro is one of the world's largest narco-traffickers and a threat to national security. Under President Trump's leadership, Maduro will not escape justice and will be held accountable." - A.G Pam Bondi

The DOJ does not have the power, or the authority to arrest the head-of-state of a foreign country. The ICC has the power to arrest a head-of-state, however the DOJ does not, and Pam Bondi should know that.

Drug dealers aren't terrorists. No other country on earth gives drug traffickers that distinction. Yes, they do immense harm and should be severely punished, but this is just another example of MAGA making up its own meanings of words and making up its own reality.

And where's the evidence that any of this is coordinated by Maduro? Drugs likely come into the country via Mexico. Please note that not all Latinos are the same. If the US DOJ is going to allege that Maduro has control over Colombian Marxists (FARC), they need proof.

I don't think that the DOJ has the power or the authority to conduct their business outside of the U.S., so if the DOJ wants to pursue Maduro, then they must go through the ICC.

To round up her posse and ride south with some wanted posters. Bring him in dead or alive. You motivate Kristi by telling her Maduro has an unruly puppy that needs some discipline.

Well we know what happened. The Administration sent two hundred Venezuelans from El Salvador’s CECOT and got 10 American Crooks in exchange. They told Maduro to lock up those two hundred. Maduro didn’t even pretend he was. Now they’re talking to the press making Trump look like a punk.

So now Maduro is a crook.

A lot of effort to try and relegate Epstein to the back pages so Trump’s fondness for little girls is kept quiet.

She also claimed those vandalizing Tesla charging stations were committing domestic terrorism so they were terrorists, I doubt that's the case anymore, but still speaks to her designating someone a terrorist has no real meaning.

She could certainly try and call the ICC, but the US is not a member of the Rome Statute. Unless the US can convince the UN Security Council to refer it - the ICC would do nothing.

Guess it's a coincidence that they all seem to derive pleasure from dear leaders snatching people up, whisking them away, paying large sums of money to have their way and terrifying anyone who stands in their way.
