the environmental impact study was to determine the safety risk to the the environment.
And, you see how well that turned out.
The environmental impact study was to determine the SAFETY risk to the the environment.
Do you realize that the Obama Administration gave BP a waiver against standard safety testing, which allowed BP to get the Deepwater Horizon up and running quickly?
The exemptions given to BP for Deepwater Horizon in 2009 have literally nothing at all, zero, zilch, nada to do with Zinke allowing Florida, and only Florida, to opt out of changes about offshore drilling announced by Zinke.
It's a classic diversion now on roughly 100% of threads involving Trump - BUT CLINTON!!! or BUT OBAMA!!!
Just trying toeducate and open some very narrow mindspull a fast one.
Just trying to educate and open some very narrow minds.
Knowledge is always a good thing.
LOL. Picking unrelated "BUT OBAMA!!!" topics to divert from discussing anything negative about Trump or his minions is not to "educate" the rest of us - it's a diversion. It gets tiring, and you've had no comment at all on the actual OP which is no surprise. Why not "educate" us on the ACTUAL topic?
My brother lives in Clearwater Beach - the BP spill decimated their fishing and tourism industries for quite some time.
Offshore Drilling is bad, as corporate greed always causes problems. Always.
6) Destroys local economies when spill occurs and drilling companies are unprepared and cut corners on safety.
Do you drive a car?
Local economies boom because of the work brought into the state.
Let's put a little perspective on that. Nationwide about 60,000 are employed in all oil and gas welling operations. In Florida alone there are over 1.1 million tourism related jobs.
Right or wrong, some states like the GOP dominated state of Florida and its GOP Governor believe offshore rigs put those tourism related jobs at risk, which they do when there are major spills, as we know from history.
I do and I am able to get gas for it without the new offshore rigs. Must be other sources available than off beaches of the United States! It's a miracle!
Your source is bull****. It doesn't account for the industries that support oilfield operations: mechanics, parts suppliers, service companies, grocery suppliers, fuel suppliers, welders, machine shops, the list is almost endless. And, those jobs pay more than the guy renting surfboards to tourists.
Do you eat? Burn electricity? Use plastics?
By creating an exception that could be applied to any other coastline state Zinke destroyed his plan.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Is this a 50 questions exercise or do you have a point relevant to the OP?
Also the environment, so there's that.
And we wouldn't want more oil spills now, would we?
