On May 4th, Dean Reynolds of CBS Evening News attacked criticisms of Barack Obama:
"...'out of the mainstream' is a charge Republicans habitually make against Democrats. It's code for 'unpatriotic.' And it worries Democrats that it's been so effective against their candidates in the past -- even against those who've received the purple heart."
CBS showed a clip of Kerry during that last part.
Is it a dirty tactic for Republicans to have pointed out the extreme left-wing voting records of both Kerry and Obama? Is it a dirty tactic for Republicans to point out how most Americans would have responded to finding out their pastor was a bigoted anti-US hysteric (like not embracing him in every imagineable way for 20 years straight)?
In other words, does it matter that Republicans were demonstrably correct in portraying Kerry and Obama as being fringe extremists, or is CBS correct in acting like any criticism against Democrats just a dirty tactic? Why is it always a hate crime to discuss the voting records and fanatical conduct of Democrats seeking to become president?
At least CBS didn't join Charlie Rose and the Washington Post in portraying objections to Rev. Wright's flaming bigotry as "white racism."
Liberal media? Nah, that's just a myth.
