hehe...can you imagine how sick we are of Americans downplaying their impact on our country? Like, seriously, you're coming to someone who just got pushed off a building to complain about a runny nose. If you're sick of Canadians hating you, maybe take that frustration to the source of the problem.

You didn't distinguish. You said Canadians. If you want to be more surgical and specific about who you're mad at, put the carny mallet down and grab a scalpel.

Sorry, Trix, you are not the victim. And when you make statements about "Canadians" without qualifying which ones you're talking about, it has everything to do with me. If that wasn't your intention, then perhaps tighten up a bit.

Maybe I should be like "ya know, I know they are currently supporting a president that is doing everything in his power to **** us over, from taking food off of our tables to threatening our very sovereignty, to where our last election had nothing to do with Canada whatsoever, except in the context of how to protect ourselves from Donald Trump, but, dammit, he said an impolite thing. Sure, it was in direct response to Trix's post, coming at it from the perspective of someone from a place Trump is directly threatening, and Trix could have gotten over her feelings and actually addressed the point being made, but he said a couple ouchie words and held her accountable for who and what she supports, and that's not Canadian politeness!"

When I read post 35 I cannot disagree. You are our enemy, not because we wanted that, but because Trump did. And now he's flexing his nuts with this dumbassed, expensive parade, that you don't even think is necessary. I might not have made the "laughing" jab at you, because I don't really talk to you like that, but the rest was spot on, and I absolutely would have gone with the laugh comment against someone else, because that's where things are. America has become ridiculous in it's newly adopted insecure attempts to look tough. Walk quietly with a big stick has been replaced with bawl nonsensically with a little dick, and it's not just Canada that has noticed. Perhaps rather than getting pissed at us for pointing out the obvious, you'd be better off thinking about how you can go back to the place where you were looked at as global leaders, instead of a clown show run by a madman. You never needed a parade for the rest of the world to understand your might. That you apparently do now is a statement of weakness, not strength.

Believe it or not, this is a statement of care. I suppose you'll be pissed with me, but some of you folks need to give your heads a bit of a shake, so you can see what you've lost and what you're losing. Be mad at me if you must. I'm still rooting for the return of a sane America.
 
 
This reminds of those jet flyovers of hospitals to "salute our healthcare heroes" during the pandemic. An ER doctor posted a video about these $250,000 "salutes". He said that hospital workers protective gear consisted of trash bags and painter's masks, and Trump had already spent $30 Million on these "salutes".

Like most wannabe dictators, Trump is all performance art, and no substance.

My understanding is that there flood warnings, but Speaker Johnson will be on hand to part the waters, if neccesary.
 
Why? I love my country. Is it perfect? No, but it's not your concern and yeah, a foreigner who shouts, you're the enemy will continue to be called out for their juvenile, unfriendly, unAmerican ranting.

I don't pretend to be a victim. I simply do not suffer fools. Anyone who calls me an enemy just because they hate our president is a fool. See, that's my prerogative to refute nonsense.
I've changed my mind about Canadians being polite. On this forum, those who hate our president, and mock my government, and call people like me their enemy are not polite people.

The parade is none of your concern. What we do or don't do is none of your concern. You won't watch. You don't care. You just want to mock a country whose president has the authority to celebrate by giving a parade. Carry on, Olfriend.

I'm sure it will be a hell of a show that gets back burnered and overshadowed by the millions marching against our wanna be.
