Abortion Pills Can Now Be Offered at Retail Pharmacies, F.D.A. Says

Unlocked article:

A victory for women’s health.

Forgetting politics for a moment, this is incredibly dangerous.

And this is where the American Taliban will face some problems.

The ban they wanted was really in name only, like any other issue facing society, crime is a game of how much resources, time and money are you honestly willing to dedicate to that issue.

We’ll see what their true commitment is to actually starting to prosecute women…

A much-needed step forward for abortion care.

This is very good news. I'm happy to hear this. And my understanding is that since pharmacies can sell their federally-legal pills by mail, this negates a lot of anti-abortion laws. States have no jurisdiction over what out-of-state pharmacies put in the mail, nor over what USPS delivers to Americans.

I'm certain religious extremists will begin looking for ways to employ the power of government at any level to limit/eliminate this freedom.

based on what facts?
hasnt canada been doing this since 2017 and they found no increase in abortion related issues?

The change comes as abortion pills, already used in more than half of pregnancy terminations in the U.S., are becoming even more sought after in the aftermath of last year’s Supreme Court decision overturning the federal right to abortion. With conservative states banning or sharply restricting abortion, the pills have increasingly become the focus of political and legal battles

So this is yet another example of the market coming through to override the idiot, immoral state. It's the same old story in a different context. Government makes women worse off by restricting their choices, whereas the market makes women better off by increasing their choices.

As someone who believes in the perfection of the free market, you should be celebrating this move. Less government regulation is good, right? ;)

Markets are not perfect, they're just much better than the alternative. Last year I started a thread about how the market helps us override the filthy state and I mentioned abortion pills in the post:

Yes.

Yes.

No, they're perfect! They get everything right! Anything that is profitable is good! Long live the Free Market!

Why? It’s an objectively stupid opinion.

How do you know that? You don't know what their reasoning is. You posted a reactionary trolling reply.

Actually it is an objectively stupid opinion.
But let's give bave a chance to respond and leave no doubt about that stupidity.

Of course they will. In Ohio or Missouri, they wanted to ban pregnant women from leaving the state to get an out of state abortion. To do that, they had to figure out how to find out that women were pregnant and then prevent them from leaving. Oh, that's right. That would be illegal. It isn't stopping their insidious plans.

Even if there were issues, shouldn't it still be up to the woman to take the risk if she chooses to?

A victory for women’s health.
Yes.

And also a victory for the nation.

Hopefully, public schools will also offer these pills free of charge to their students.
