Again. It is NOT Abercrombie's fault. They were complicit because there was money to be made. That is what a business does. If you don't like it. Don't try to blame them but find something that would match with what you agree. The parents are certainly by far the most responsible party. That said, they are not the only responsible party. Abercrombie has a choice about whether to design and sell clothes that sexualize children. They are complicit the moment they decide to do evil in return for 20 pieces of silver.
Whats the golden rule about life?So you think living in an inner city, whatever that is, makes a girl a slut?
No matter where the family lives the parents are responsible to teach their kids values.
If the girl isn't taught the golden rule about life, she will turn out bad.
Or...we have different experiences. Why do some people never consider that other people just have different experiences? Why is it that other people have to be living in another reality? Ridiculous.
Whats the golden rule about life?
I know this won't be politically correct, I don't give a ****, but if there is a strong father figure in the home, I don't think a girl would even try to wear sluttly clothes. She wouldn't get away with it.
The mother has no standing to tell the daughter not to do it as she probably did it too, and then you get into the argument of do as I say not as I do. That doesn't work with kids.
I realize fathers have been discarded buy feminists but for the most part, the most well adjusted kids I have known have come from homes with strong father figures in them.
it has been my experience, teaching at an inner city public school, that most of the time....they do.
I don't think this is something that should be banned. What I find sad is that there is enough interest in parents buying this sort of clothing for their children that it actually elicited a market response. That's what's sad.
All this does is broadcast your ignorance and lack of experience. The best people I know (morally, spiritually, however you want to classify it) were all raised by single parents. Some mothers, some fathers. I myself am the product of a single-parent household and I'd consider myself a reasonably well-adjusted member of society. Most of the people that I know who are REALLY messed up psychologically come from more restrictive or repressive households, typically with two parents.
I'd say this more reflects on the kinds of single parents who send their children to inner city public schools.
Please tell me how many cases comprise your experiences. Are you saying you have not seen single mothers that cannot control their daughters?
If a daughter can do math at all, and the mother had the girl early, how can the mother then tell the daughter not to engage in sexual activity when she did herself. She loses all credibility.
Do you think a single mother has a better chance to control the daughter or a strong father figure?
It is well known, the boy wants to please the mother while the girl strives to please the father. She doesn't want to let him down. If he is not there, she is more likely to go wild, looking for a male influence to take care of her.
It is not that hard to understand.
Girls need to be taught to never make a decision that will affect the rest of their life.
A choice to have sex can get her pregnant or she can get a disease, that will affect the rest of her life.
If she decides to take drugs, she can get hooked or die, that can affect the rest of her life.
If she decides to drop out of school, that will affect the rest of her life.
That needs to be drilled into her head about the time she is 12 or 13.
It works beleive me.
I agree. What ever happened to dressing little girls like little girls, instead of miniatures of their moms or the current sex symbol? Now babies get their ears pierced and are allowed to wear make-up as soon as they want to.
I agree, the problem with little kids dressing like adults is in the hands of the parents. They need to put their foot down and not just go along with crowd.
Still, push up padded bikini's for children is borderline child porn in my opinion.
Don't you think those same rules apply to guys? Or are guys expected to be **** ups?

The guys need to be taught that too, but I think it is more important with girls. Girls make the decisions where sex is concerned and they take home the consequence. You would be surprised how simple this rule makes things for kids, if they follow it.
Girls are taught to look pretty and be cute but very little is put into intelligence and values.
For example, every time I was at my ex-girlfriends house, she had a lot of nieces, the girls would come through the door and they would only be told how cute they were. Nobody ever asked how they were doing in school or ask them if they needed any help.
So you think living in an inner city, whatever that is, makes a girl a slut?

I've spent some time at an elementary school lately. Scary how mature some of those little girls are looking. I saw some fourth graders who actually need bras. Remember the Brooke Shields ads for Calvin Klein. Dang, remember the Brook Shields movie, PRETTY BABY??
Interesting times. It's nice there are still some who object to this kind of stuff.

Hopefully she'll learn soon that too much make-up is less attractive than no make-up at all. Perhaps someone should show her that a little mascara and maybe some blush is enough for her age.You should have seen the face of my girlfriends cousin when I told her she can't wear make-up before she is 16. She had a cow.
I told her make-up is only to attract attention of the opposite sex and she didn't want that before she was 16. Her single mother agrees but can't control what she does so now at almost 15 she is wearing make-up every day, and I mean a lot of it.

That is so sad. Did you at least ask them that?
Those girls are going to grow up looking for bad boys....

I didn't strive to please my father... I made my dad angry a lot in fact.
Don't forget to teach your boys the same lessons..
There are exceptions to every rule of course.
A friend of mine had a daughter.
I guess she was 15 when I asked her about her dating. She said she wasn't allowed to yet.
I then asked her about getting pregnant, in the future. She said matter of factly that it wouldn't happen because her father would kill her. She was right.
I didn't sense fear in that answer though, more like respect. He kept her in line and she turned out very well. Successful.
