The judge who was reading her ruling Thursday evening has cited several points as her reasoning with siding with lawyers for the state of Illinois. She says DHS' own internal communications seem to say that local law enforcement is doing a good enough job security the area outside the Broadview facility. She also cites the decision by federal prosecutors to drop charges against four protesters arrested at the site. She says that casts doubt on the credibility of DHS to ask for more protection.
A spokesperson for the Village of Broadview said three vans carrying about 45 Texas National Guard soldiers arrived on Wednesday night.

"We let them sleep undisturbed. We hope that they will extend the same courtesy in the coming days to Broadview residents who deserve a good night's sleep, too," the spokesperson said.

It seems that last night forty-five Texas Guard arrived at the Chicago Suburb of Broadview's ICE Processing Center, where the Village of Broadview allowed them peaceful ingress into the Center.

However today, as in Portland, a local District Federal Judge put a restraining order on the troops, disallowing their deployment.

The restraining order was issued a little over an hour ago, seemingly making the Guard Broadview deployment non-judicial. I'm not aware of a response from Broadview or the Illinois State Police (who jointly control the immediate area), as to what will occur if the now illegally deployed Guard attempt to leave the building and enter the public civilian policed area.

In addition the Judge is allowing the protestors to protest on the sidewalks directly around the Broadview facility. This is in contrast to ICE currently forcing the protestors across the street, having taken over the street - blocking pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

ICE had unilaterally built a fence enclosing the public municipal street, thereby impeding through traffic (particularly blocking emergency response services). This was a high point of contention with the Village.

The restraining order is for 14 days, when it's assumed the judge will further clarify or make a permanent ruling.

"A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked National Guard operations in the Chicago area, saying that the Trump administration’s version of events was “simply unreliable” and that deploying troops anywhere in the state would 'only add fuel to the fire.'

A lawyer for the administration had argued in a hearing that the troops were needed to protect federal agents and property from protests, including at an immigration facility in the suburbs. But the judge, April M. Perry, sided with the state, saying that she had 'seen no credible evidence that there is a danger of a rebellion in the state of Illinois.'

The extent of the temporary restraining order, which will be in place for 14 days, was not immediately clear on Thursday, but the state’s attorney general, Attorney General Kwame Raoul, called it 'a victory for the rule of law.'"

That part certainly isn’t true. In watching a lot of live footage (available to anyone on YouTube) of these protests - the only time ICE forces the protestors across or down the street is when there is a vehicle incoming to or outgoing from the facility. And that’s because the protestors are not limiting themselves to the sidewalk.

The mob is trespassing on the property and in the driveway and spilling over into the road to block those vehicles. So ICE moves them out of the way. Mind you, this facility is located at the corner of a very busy intersection and there have been a lot of close calls because the mob won’t stay out of the road. It’s a miracle that no one has been accidentally run over yet.

They lost their minds when Obama ordered a burger with dijon mustard. I think they'd do more than lose their minds.

So the National Guard is necessary for…pedestrians and traffic control?

😂😂😂😂😂

I thought it was a war zone 😂😂😂

Oh no! You mean the President can't just make up a bunch of shit and then use those lies to send in troops against the US People in an attempt to spur further conflict in the hopes he can provoke a response he can then use to enact the Insurrection Act? I thought this was America!

The NG is necessary because the local police aren't doing anything and ICE personnel need to return to their enforcement duties.

Doing anything for what?

Traffic is driving past the protestors standing around wearing inflatable costumes

You’ve been lied to by your Dear Leader and might as well wear a “sucker” sign.

I guess the monumental question is, will the administration bother themselves to abide by the order? (Or just carry on and rush to a higher court?)

Yep.

The judge essentially called Trump's assertions nonsense.

Harsh words, for why - I don't know?

You tell me? How are police and EMS supposed to get through this fence? Fly?

Where are you coming-up with this nonsense? And, why are you propagating it?

This is outright carpetbagging. For why, I don't know?

Geezus.

All the info below is from my OP. Did you even read it? Before you started propagating this stuff?

Here:

At the request of Broadview police, the Unified Command was established to coordinate safety measures around the ICE facility in Broadview.

The judge cited several points as her reasoning with siding with lawyers for the state of Illinois. She says DHS' own internal communications seem to say that local law enforcement is doing a good enough job security the area outside the Broadview facility.

As described in my OP, Broadview PD & Illinois State PD have established a "Unified Command" structure working with ICE to provide security and safety.

ICE internal emails acknowledge the system is "working pretty well".

Unified Command has secured the area, and maintains designated safe protest areas allowing ICE ingress & egress to the facility, as well as allows the safe & efficient vehicular through-traffic to pass by the facility on what Broadview claims is an important safety EMS & Police thoroughfare.

In fact the area is so secure, the forty-five arriving Texas Guard had to coordinate with Unified Command to gain entrance to the facility! Where Unified Command enforced the nighttime noise & "no protest" overnight noise ordinances, so the arriving Texas Guard could receive a good night's sleep after their long journey!

I believe the night-time no-noise/no-protest prohibition is 9P-6A, but don't quote me on the exact hours. I might also add the nighttime noise ordinance also applies to ICE as well as the public, in order to allow the local residents to receive the peaceful rest they so deserve - undisturbed by ICE activity.

ICE had to agree to the above items, in order to receive civilian police protection. They also had to refrain from deploying chemical munitions, which were endangering the health & well-being of the local residents and their pets. ICE seems to be cooperating in the matter, no longer deploying the chemical agents and abiding by the noise ordinances.

Quite honestly, the post you're responding to contains bear-faced lies.

From the OP:

"The Unified Command is setting up designated areas where people can safely exercise their rights, which will support the safety of the public, and ensure vehicular traffic can safely access the roads in the area," Illinois State Police said in a statement.

The designated protest area is on the sidewalks of Beach Street.

Yeah, but those cat costumes might spark a revolution.

They lost their minds when Obama ordered a burger with dijon mustard. I think they'd do more than lose their minds.

They talked about that shit for days. Why everyone should recognize that a talking head using the same vitriolic words to describe a very normal condiment for burgers and everything else for that matter realize it is all performative bullshit.

The tan suit, **** me, days of that too. Thing is, in my mind, it was more covert a way to point out the "blackness" of the President because he looked good in it for his skin color. But apparently the President wearing a tan suit shows "weakness" to MAGA but Trump whining on Twitter on the toilet about everything and anything, the leaders of the world laughing behind his back and to his face now, and everything else Trump has done isn't a sign of weakness.

I bet Trump could wear a tan suit and it be a sign of "strength" and a "**** you" to Obama that he can pull it off.
