"A Senator Just Unapologetically Declared the U.S. a White Homeland"

Oh the dribble from the communist and socialist haters of America.
Ever wonder why every empire in history failed at some point? When they ceased to be who they were. When they allowed people who didn't believe in what made them great, made them who they were.

We are reflecting the ideas of Abraham Lincoln.

"...our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

Excuse me!!!!! It sure as hell doesn't belong to those trying to tear it apart or rewrite it's history or stray from the values that made America, America.
What part of history is being rewritten? Name something specific, don't waste my time with the bullshit rw firehose. Name ONE item that's been "rewritten".

"A Senator Just Unapologetically Declared the U.S. a White Homeland

"...“What is an American?” This was the question Schmitt posed at the fifth annual National Conservatism Conference in Washington. His answer is that the nation is fundamentally not based on the idea of equality or freedom or any other ideal. Nor is it accessible to people of all races and religions. It is fundamentally, he told an assembled crowd, a white homeland.

The white Europeans who settled America and conquered the West “believed they were forging a nation—a homeland for themselves and their descendants,” he said. “They fought, they bled, they struggled, they died for us. They built this country for us. America, in all its glory, is their gift to us, handed down across the generations. It belongs to us. It’s our birthright, our heritage, our destiny. If America is everything and everyone, then it is nothing and no one at all. But we know that’s not true. America is not a ‘universal nation.’...”

Do you agree?
Let Reagan explain how wrong he is.

Excuse me!!!!! It sure as hell doesn't belong to those trying to tear it apart or rewrite it's history or stray from the values that made America, America.
You have no idea what made America America.

No idea what majes America great.

It’s not what this old fiscal conservative recognizes as Conservatism.

The term has been usurped (just as liberal has).
In that case, you may want to consider voting Democrat in future elections. We may not agree with everything the Democrats stand for, but they are most certainly the lesser evil of two bad choices, and because of the winner-take-all format of US elections, a third choice is not a real option. There's far more room for compromise, moderation, and negotiation on issues in the Democratic Party than there is in the 21st century white nationalist Republican Party.

You love that wriggle room too, it seems. I mean, good on you for glomming on to plausible deniability from a guy clever enough to not say wypypo while claiming that America was and is made by, and for, European Christians, and that they (the Other) tear down the monuments and history, and will never belong to this non-universal America.

I don't know what wiggle room you're talking about. I don't even know what the part is where he supposedly said something that was white supremacist, let alone what the context was. Figuring that out in an honest fashion is impossible given the degree of biased paraphrasing in the article. It would have taken much less effort for the author just to publish a verbatim transcript. Much more difficult, though, to spin that into a narrative.

By the way, it's mostly European Christians tearing down the monuments and history.

“When they tear down our statues and monuments..."

You do realize he is talking about monuments that commemorate white supremacy through the Confederacy, right?

Lol, more support of criminals tearing down statues and monuments. Were those wearing hoods and masks your heroes?

The sad thing is that I am not. There has been this broken element in the US since its founding.

Sure you are......you are here supporting the OP and the article presented. It has been shown the blatant deception they undertook by adding and twisting of the Senators words to form an entirely different intent, yet you continue.

Best you run away from this thread, for this BS narrative has been shutdown.

I linked the video. Two other people linked the text.

Good for you. I was talking about the shitty article, not what the guy actually said.

By all means, however, make your case for his speech being white supremacist.

You aren’t very good at denying what’s obvious are you?

"...What makes America exceptional isn’t just that we committed ourselves to the principles of self-government. It’s that we, as a people, were actually capable of living them.

But the Left took these principles and drained them of all underlying substance, turning the American tradition into a deracinated ideological creed. To live up to that American creed, they told us, we had to transform America itself...

...For years, conservatives would talk as if the whole world were just Americans-in-waiting—“born American, but in the wrong place.” America was, as one neoconservative writer put it, “The First Universal Nation.”

That’s what set Donald Trump apart from the old conservatism and the old liberalism alike: He knows that America is not just an abstract “proposition,” but a nation and a people, with its own distinct history and heritage and interests...

...The Continental Army soldiers dying of frostbite at Valley Forge, the Pilgrims struggling to survive in the hard winter soil of Plymouth, the pioneers striking out from Missouri for the wild and dangerous frontier, the outnumbered Kentucky settlers repelling wave after wave of Indian war band attacks from behind their stockade walls—all of them would be astonished to hear that they were only fighting for a “proposition"...

...They believed they were forging a nation—a homeland for themselves and their descendants. They fought, they bled, they struggled, they died for us. They built this country for us.

America, in all its glory, is their gift to us, handed down across the generations. It belongs to us. It’s our birthright, our heritage, our destiny."

---

(Ibid.)

Deracinated.

Only a people, a nation can produce America.

They made America (and killed Indians) for their descendants. Only their descendants have the right people, culture to be free and American.

Birthright. Heritage.

He knows what he's doing.

It's race-nationalism.

The article correctly captured that he was making a blood and soil argument that only the right people - a nation forged from the descendants of the colonizers - can or ought to be American. You deny that to your lasting shame.

I'll deny it right up until you make a case for it. The article was hot garbage.

That is one of the parts that find to be mild fascism.

The article was a deceptive piece, putting words into the Senators mouth, he didn't speak or infer. America "began" with the colonizers but has ever since been a nation of People's the world over, coming from all corners of the globe making this their home and country, they love.

Descendants of the colonizers died on the fields of the Civil War freeing our black citizens from oppressive political ideology who wished to keep them slaves. Some of them are still alive with us today, continually wanting to keep blacks enslaved to poverty, government dependency, and poor education.

Always harping on racism, keeping us divided, they smear, falsely accuse, and slander the names and characters of individuals to promote their ideology of fear and hatred. Pretending to be 'defenders of democracy', they set themselves up to be the elite of society, who knows better than the populace, seemingly keeping the lesser educated in their rightful place in their minds. While they live on the fat and the meat close to the bone, the outlayers, the deplorables, the minorities get the crumbs and leftovers and step out of line from their lot in life, swift injustice ensues.

America has had enough!!!

There likely are quite a few individuals that believe this 🤷‍♀️

You see glimpses of it everywhere - especially in highly nationalistic types. 🤷‍♀️ And within the radical Christian population also.
If that is true, those individuals need to removed from office and banned from law enforcement, military service, political office, or professional occupations.

We need to get rid of the bigoted asshats.

More lies and bullshit designed to cover for a racism.

Just absolutely shameful.

So... as per the Senator's speech we determine who is and isn't truly "American" and reserve that title for those who are truly deserving which just happens to be the descendants of the setllers who progeny have gone on to shape the world.

The problem with this line of thinking is that he is claiming a heritage that just is not real and is making claim to successes that he did not make.

Do you agree?

It sort of boggles the mind. There were fifty million little sperm that were sent on the great hunt the day this fellow was conceived. Fifty Million little sperm and the one that won created this? That was the best of the lot? I mean, it's hard to imagine.
