A Pentagon-wide email recently went out warning about Signal's vulnerability

You don't actually believe that. The journalist that was invited said that they mentioned targets, times, payloads etc. Are you saying the journalist is lying or that these things aren't classified?
And if nothing was classified you would support the journalist releasing the entire group chat correct?

and if he has classified information .... why do you support him having it ?

It just shows how far over their head these folk are. The worst thing an organization can do is get rid of " institutional memory ". However, that's what Trump is doing 'cause he is smarter than anyone.

"Institutional memory encompasses the collective knowledge, experiences, and "know-how" within an organization, including policies, procedures, successes, and failures, and is crucial for organizational learning and continuity. "

Biden-era guidance encouraged use of Signal app by highly-targeted govt officials: 'Best practice'

appears no classified info was

gotta admit , Babylon Bee does have some really funny things
Well, unless one considers the plans to attack a foreign country as not classified, then sure. If that's the case, then maybe they should have posted it on X and Instagram to troll the Houthis before the bombs come down.
🤭

we'll see, looks like stuff is being released this morning

now, WHY did Goldberg keep classified information ? WHY is he releasing it ? (if it was classified)

that's not legal is it? I thought liberals hated the idea of people keeping classified information they were not supposed to have ?

But Hillary sent an email a decade ago, so that makes it ok that they sent oops war plans in advance to the wrong people using AOL instant messanger or whatever.
They also consider Facebook to be an acceptable means for transmitting sensitive documents.

Maybe they should use public cork boards. You never know when the power might go out.

True, I see no problem with shoppers at Kroger reading classified war plans, after all, everyone else has.

Biden-era guidance encouraged use of Signal app by highly-targeted govt officials: 'Best practice'

As usual, you failed to read the link you posted. Here is the part you missed.
A Department of Defense memo from 2023 under the Biden administration detailed that while Signal was approved for some use by government officials, they could not use the platform to "access, transmit, process non-public DoD information." CISA's guidance related to Signal was released after the Department of Defense guidance.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Sure, Goldberg is the problem. Why he's releasing it should be pretty obvious, but in case it isn't, the reason is high level members of the administration are not only using a commercial app to communicate classified information, but also were violating the warning the Pentagon issued precisely over this exact action. As if that's not bad enough, they added a reporter to the chat. Yeah, that's newsworthy.

if its classified as you say - should he have it in his possession ?
If he's a journalist that was handed classified info and he did nothing illegal to obtain it, yes he should. Do they not teach you about freedom of the press in your troll farm in Russia?

i hate the incompetence of trump's morons.
at this point since its being investigated, he SHOULD "keep" it (but not release anything classified), and that appears to be what he is doing so its available as evidence.
is it legal for him to keep it? it could well be, since he didn't ask for it, he was given it, at least until legal authorities work with him for proper handling.

I don't think @stealthycat has a full understanding of what has happened here. He apparently thinks Goldberg stole the plans.

if you are mistakenly sent a $5000 check ... is it yours to keep or was it a mistake and you should return it ? you didn't "steal" the check, but its not yours and you shouldn't keep it, right ?

he intentionally kept screen shots and stayed on a call he knew he shouldn't be on

that doesn't matter ?

Goldberg is as untrustworthy as they come and you want to believe him

The federal office in charge of ensuring cybersecurity at all levels of the government cited the use of encrypted messaging app Signal as a "best practice" for "highly targeted" government officials, the Biden-era document shows.
Republicans are attacking the messenger because that’s all that’s left. The whole lot of Republicans are dirty liars. They can’t even answer simple questions under oath truthfully. I bet the untrustworthy reporter could and back it up. I hope he releases everything if they keep insisting it’s not important information.

As for signal being best government practice for security sensitive information, why are you trying to gaslight me?

House Republican on war plans chat: ‘There’s no doubt that Russia and China saw this stuff’
Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said there’s “no doubt” that Russia and China were monitoring the U.S. officials’ devices used for a war plan text chat.

“I will guarantee you, 99.99 percent with confidence, Russia and China are monitoring those two phones,” Bacon told CNN’s Manu Raju. “So I just think it’s a security violation, and there’s no doubt that Russia and China saw this stuff within hours of the actual attacks on Yemen or the Houthis.”
Bacon called the group chat, which also included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President Vance, among others, a “gross error.”

“They intentionally put highly classified information on an unclassified device,” he told CNN. “I would have lost my security clearance in the Air Force for this and for a lot less.”
Bacon said he was concerned about the “loathing toward Europe.”

“Europe’s our ally. NATO is our ally. Canada’s our ally. I think now we can see why they’re so condescending and rude to our allies, because you just see it in a private text,” Bacon said. “To me, the concern is that they’re making foreign policy based on this ‘loathing,’ and I don’t like it.”

he didn't think it was a real call at first. when he realized it was, he dropped out.
didn't you follow what actually happened, or are you just randomly posting in a desperate attempt to justify the incompetence here?

Nope.....he is a reporter. That's his job. I suspect we will come to find out Waltz was a "source" for Goldberg

money is different than information.
