A Good Jobs Report, Not Yet a Full Recovery

Every POTUS takes full responsibility along with the oath on 20 January.
 They take the office and the reigns of the country. That does not mean that circumstances that quite obviously predated their term will be laid at their feet by those who actually study this stuff. If we went by start and end dates alone we wouldn't need historians or much of anything to determine who was a successful executive.

That is the most ridiculous and intellectually dishonest statement I have read in quite a while. Congrats!

I don't give GWB a pass for the overlap effects of the late-Clinton recession either.

With all respect, you're doing an absolutely amazing job of cherry-picking.

You don't remember the state of the economy Mr. Bush left us in, in 2008?

You seriously want to claim you don't remember an economic collapse?

Well it's an average. Sure the forest burned down, but before that it was pretty nice.

So average overall.

To mark it in time. Just as BHO had to deal with the late-GWB recession.

so if a vandal slashes your tire, and the repair shop says that model is discontinued, you would call it "the vandal incident" but fault the repair shop anyways.

An odd mental position to take....

I'm sure BHO would have loved that surplus Clinton handed off to GWB.
Minus the two ongoing wars as well.
Not to mention the decrease in government revenues due to that 4.4 million job loss at the end of GWB .

Yeah, and on-average that maiden voyage of the Titanic went peachy-swell - until the end!

Let's do it again!

And let's do 2008 again, too!

Averages are meaningless in the case where BHO was stuck with the top-end unemployment figure of 10.4% from GWB.
Bush averages were a gift from Clinton .

And we went from President Clinton's leaving President Bush a budget surplus, to President Bush's leaving President Obama a deficit.

(though I wish we'd raise corporate & very high earner taxes or close their loopholes enough to generate a little more income and start paying down the debt)

Non sequitur, but a good way for you to avoid the substance of the thread.

FDR inherited worse and did better.
