I try not to post too many threads but this story deserves one. This lady is a black homeless person and displays more intelligence, guts, and grit than any politician or media hack ever. She should be a role model for everyone reading this, white or black because she hits the nail on the head perfectly as to what our socialist public school system is doing to our impressionable youth. She is telling them that this is NOT a white against black issue or one of religion since she is an atheist and it is not gay bashing because she is bisexual. This is an issue of who and what we want to be as a society, pitting blacks against whites and gays against heterosexuals and then slamming anyone who opposes such teachings as homophobic and racist. I don't know of anyone who has expressed the horror that our public schools have become any better than this lady and I cannot fathom that she is homeless with the intellect she displayed in her remarks. That she has to drive 3 hours to that meeting and spend money she couldn't afford to stay in a hotel only to blast these elitists that are making hundreds of thousands of dollars to foist their left-wing ideology onto her kid should be a lesson to all here. We sit in our cozy homes and shrug our shoulders at how the schools are dividing America and then wonder why people are so angry and divided and do crazy things and trudge off to our jobs and do nothing but take it while someone like her fights them tooth and nail. Unless we all become like her and fight back, we have lost America, and when America is lost the entire world is. The situation is that dire. My wife was a teacher. She always was confronted by the odd parent who was upset about something. Schools shouldn't be teaching this or that, or SHOULD BE teaching this or that. She experienced venom. Big deal, comes with the territory.

Some schools teach an obviously far left radical "woke" agenda. Sometimes is just far left teachers who do this. Sometimes far right teachers teach the wrong things. Schools k-12 need to concern themselves with education not indoctrination. Basics like reading writing arithmetic, the old 3R's. When you look at testing scores in math, science, reading and social studies, they are terrible overall with many schools unable to show proficiency among a large majority of its students. When a child is in the 3 rd or 4 th grade and cannot read at grade level they don't need to be worried about boys being girls, or what pronoun the left think should be used to refer to someones sexual identity. Teach them to read before you allow them to move on in school. By the time they reach 8-9 grade and they cannot read at grade level they are going to have a very difficult time in passing course work in high school. That's too late to address the issue. Teach them what they have to know before they advance in school.

IF someone was telling kids that it would not be ok, but those who listen to Fox or rightwing media have been bought into the notion that kids ARE being taught that. I just shake my head at people who believe the first thing they read, but never actually spend some time in a classroom (maybe as a volunteer) or talk to a teacher, or bother with really investigating what goes on in schools.
As per my comment above about my wife having been a schoolteacher, the strongest complaints always came from people with preconceived notions that NEVER actually spent any time listening to what is really going on is schools, but heard "rumors."

I partial agree with you (believe it or not), because repeated studies (from reliable sources, not partisan ones) have shown that ignorance and poor education is widespread in the U.S.
To blame CRT for this though is at best disingenuous and outright freaky at worst. There are many factors involved in why education is so bad in the U.S. but one has to spend some time reading about WHY it is that way, instead of just jumping on the CRT bandwagon or listening to rightwing media.
(BTW, I don't trust leftwing media either, so let's talk about balance, ok?)
Underfunded school systems, political interference, partisan parents, and a "we just don't want to know" attitude are all contributing factors.

Let me compare what is happening in Canada. Now that we have found many sites where bones of indigenous children have been found, there is a BIG push to teach all kids about the horrors of residential schools and teach the history of indigenous people. GUESS WHAT? A few parents are up in arms about that. LIKE YOU, they don't want our kids "indoctrinated" into believing white folks did something evil. Trouble is, white folks DID DO something evil.

Should schools in Germany not teach about the Holocaust either? Your complaints and that of the OP, sounds too much like bleating. Look up the definition, it fits. American schools need to do better but the Right thinks doing better is: NOT teaching about black history, reinstalling prayer into schools (Christian prayers of course) and letting POLITICIANS dictate what school boards should teach.

a. It will stagger into the next century and then collapse.

2. Look at the horrific violent crime in our cities. How can society continue under such dangerous conditions?
