I read a story today about a guy who started a controversy by winning a digital art contest by submitting an image he created with the AI Image creator Midjourney. Its front end runs through Discord, and it is indeed very impressive.

So ofcourse my first image was something nutty...

The Ric Flair result is a bit better, I think. THere is apparently a skill to this to get the best out of the AI...

Perhaps people should start feeding these AIs non-picture-stuff and see how they behave. Start with "complete theory of quantized gravity"

What would it spit out? A jumbled mess? Pictures of famous theoretical physcists? A nonsense equation?

I'll give it a shot and report back.

The AI still has a habit of missing badly on anatomy from time to time. This is "Girl in a Sundress" ... great face, but weirdness in the dress...

The two most interesting results, IMHO, of the prompt "complete theory of quantized gravity":

Not mine, but someone used Midjourney to imagine Chris Farley as The Joker and it's horrifying.

I thought that Mike Rowe might be interested in this technology as an example of the encroachment on human jobs by automation, so I decided to generate some pictures using the prompt "Mike Rowe as Superman" as examples.

Most of them are pretty much what you are picturing in your head of the Prompt, but one of the "misses" over the many runs ended up being by far the best, based on the subject of the image. I assume Midjourney must have based it on some photo it found on the web. Anyway, I quite like it.

Anybody want an AI generated Halloween Profile picture? My Midjourney membership is burning a hole in my pocket.

Joe Biden as a plaguebearer.

Hillary Clinton as a slaanesh Daemonette

You would be surprised. Midjourney is able spit back astonishingly sophisticated images from abstract concepts. Concept artists are extremely afraid, I can tell you.

In fact, college students are able to use AI to generate their writing. It's some seriously wild west stuff.
