It’s obvious to us normal people that MAGATS have no clue what 86 means. It’s a part of my vocabulary.
I’ll use it in a sentence for you:
A diner has ordered French fries but changes his mind. The server would say to the chef “86 the fries”.
It doesn’t mean anyone wants to kill the French fries.
 
In the earliest American etymology, 86 meant something at the local soda fountanin had sold out.

I first heard the term 86 in the military. It's the form used when someone is reported to be "absent without leave" (AWOL).

Donald Trump is most definitely absent without leave and has been since his first term. Today with limited cognitive function and his attention devoted strictly to self aggrandizement Trump damn sure isn't paying attention to his job or to the oath of office he took.

The Irish might say Trump is "away with the fairies" meaning here but definitely not here, mentally detached from reality.

Since this happened during the Comey time with the FBI it is entriely logical to assume that SS and FBI investigated the threat against Biden (as they should have). It follows that at that time both units would have known the meaning of "86" or there would have been no need for a threat assessment.

Therefor, when Comey says, "I had no idea what that meant", your post ALONE shows Comey to be a liar and quite probably the one who made the "cool" shell formation. What sensible former or current law enforcement agent would think that is "cool"? Answer? None. Unless they had an agenda, which Comey does.

Comey is voicing dissent against a President he feels he is dangerous.

People have a right to voice their opinions.

You're engaging in dramatic arts, if you think Comey is ordering a plot to assassinate a U.S President.

86 is used primarily in the hotel and restaurant business.

Did you voice your concern, when people put a picture of Biden kidnapped on their vehicle? How about when Trump told the 2nd Amendment people to take care of Hilary Clinton? Or how about when Trump ordered people to beat up protesters at his rallies?

More over, it's unclear why you have to use a derogatory term in your commentary.

With all due respect, the "fight like hell" is ubiquitous in politics and no rational person believes it's a call to violence when used in that context.

That's because "fight like hell", just like "86", can be used in a violent or non-violent way. It's all in the context.

This is correct. CONTEXT is the most important.

If somebody said, "I am going to kill him/her" or "he/she's dead". That's not considered "illegal" because it's a figure of speech.
