So, are you 40-60 year-old MAGAs ready to bring your parents, who live in nursing homes, back home to live with you?

"Across the country, Medicaid is the primary provider of coverage for nearly two out of every three (63 percent) nursing home residents."

  • Nursing homes still need more than 60,000 workers to return to their pre-pandemic workforce levels. Proper funding could assist with staff recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Access to nursing home care has declined in recent years, as more than 775 nursing homes have closed, nearly half have had to limit admissions, and 20 percent have had to downsize.

I don't have a problem with MAGA being required to provide in-home care for their aging parents if it means that I'm not paying to solve their problems for them. Boomer MAGA should not be living the high life on my dime; they can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and take care of themselves for a change.

Seniors in nursing homes who have used up all their saving are one of the few legitimate users of Medicaid.

In right to work for less red states, many get underpaid for their whole careers. Now the rich want their deferred wages, too.

Sounds like the wolf has been let into the hen house. The very organization that profits from medicare paying for long term care is advocating for no cuts. Wow. I just wish people would be honest. If you cut people who do not qualify it's getting rid of fraud, waste or abuse. Why is that wrong. If you want to support anybody and everybody having free health benefits that they didn't contribute into, just say that. At least it's honest.

Nursing home cost is $100,000+ a year...

Don't take long for an average American to use up their 'savings'
Not sure why but my mother in law didn't pay nearly that much and had a nice one bedroom apartment in a care facility that included her meals and other services. She had some investments but those were not touched, her monthly income from retirement and some SSI more than covered the costs and she had money left to take car of needs and wants.

You guys expect MAGAs to care about seniors in nursing homes?

Some of those nursing homes are going to face the same fate as some rural hospital systems, where roughly the same percentage of patients are also on Medicaid.

It is like no one really thinks about reality or impact. In world of MAGA the going thought was it would be those pesky minorities that "should be working" most impacted, turns out rural America and seniors in nursing homes are going to get the biggest boot in the arse.

Car needs and wants?.. . We are talking about a very different level of nursing care...
