50 GOP military vets in Congress denounce Walz for lying about rank, dodging deployment: ‘No honor’

It is you is minformed at best. Trump controls the NG in DC and he refused to call them out that day and instead allowed his loyalists to storm the Capitol building.

"The President of the United States is the commander-in-chief of the District of Columbia National Guard"

Hmmmm - you're right, I was wrong. I guess I drew inaccurate conclusions from other reports that I've read. However, I'll refer you to this article:

Trump did offer NG security

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg said last week that former President Donald Trump did in fact request National Guard troops be deployed in Washington D.C. before the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Kellogg said he was present at the time of Trump’s request, and Congress should release his testimony to the public.

Trump has repeatedly claimed he requested National Guard troops be activated in D.C. to provide security as he called on supporters to gather in D.C. to protest the certification of the 2020 election results for Joe Biden. Trump’s claim has been substantiated by members of his administration, but rejected by some members of Congress.

Kellogg, who was serving as Vice President Mike Pence’s National Security Advisor at the time of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol breach, tweeted last week, “To be clear on 6 Jan/NG. Pg 199 of my book, ‘On 3 Jan the President asked the Def Dept to deploy NG troops’ into DC for J6 contingencies. OK for J6 Cmte to publicly release my full sworn testimony. Release Army Guard and DC Mayor J6 testimonies as well. Would be illuminating.”

Then we arrive right back at the NPR article in which

The former chief of U.S. Capitol Police says security officials at the House and Senate rebuffed his early requests to call in the National Guard ahead of a demonstration in support of President Trump that turned into a deadly attack on Congress.

Former chief Steven Sund -- who resigned his post last week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for him to step down -- made the assertions in an interview with The Washington Post published Sunday.

I'm left wondering whether Trump ever issued an order, and whether his subordinates simply disobeyed those orders.

Again, I will repeat what you seem to want to ignore.

Nothing that happened prior to the 6th absolved Trump of acting that day. As Presidentand Commander in Chief he had an obligation to honor his oath of office and protect the Capitol and those inside conducting their Constitutional duties as the riots unfolded. He chose not to that, he chose to allow his supporters to storm the Capitol. It cannot be denied or excused only ignored by those who refuse to acknowledge the truth.

And I'm still looking at the house and the senate REFUSING additional security.

Now, let's look at the situation in which Trump did deploy troops. The Dems would be using that against him. They would be claiming that Trump deployed troops against the legislature. Nancy Pelosi would have staged some kind of incident, claiming that Trump's National Guard attacked her. Trump was damned if he did, and damned if he didn't deploy troops, amirite?

All of which lends credence to the idea that the rioters were the "FBI assets" that we've read about. Pelosi knew there was going to be a riot, because she ordered it. Pelosi refused additional security, because it would have interfered with her riot. Mind, I'm not putting that forward as a fact, but I see a strong possibility, even a likelihood.

Give me a break. None of that excuses Trump. You can be damn sure if he thought they were FBI operatives or Antifa he would have deployed the Guard for certain!

You are referring to Rear Admiral Jackson? These guys are so stupid they don't recognize personal hypocrisy when they use it themselves...
He's not an admiral anymore. He was demoted to captain.

He should have been given a dishonorable discharge.

I didn't hear that sentiment when BLM and Antifa were doing much worse around the country. Kamala Harris was bailing those folk out of jail, because they were such good people. Mayors were telling their police forces to stand down, so the rioters could work off some steam.

Typical right wing response
When all else fails - try to defect

We are talking about the Jan6 Insurrection Riot, when 2000-2,5000 insurrection rioters violently forced entry and occupied the US legislature, in a blatant attempt to prevent the results of a democratic election being accepted. All because their candidate lost

It was the most serious of crimes and should've resulted in prison sentences of decades in prison, for all those convicted of this crime.

When all else fails - apply the same damned standards. You want to charge every conservative within half a mile of the capitol on Jan 6, but then excuse all the violence that led up to the election. Funny, too, how all the violence ENDED WITH the election. Kamala Harris helped to bail out rioters, until the rioters weren't her chosen rioters.

No "double standards"

You have already been caught out on a lie - trying to minimalize the Jan6 insurrection riot in size and importance. You said:
...a couple hundred miscreants...in the basement of the Capitol....Dems went on a witch hunt, trying to ruin thousands of people's lives.....a bunch of people...

Sorry but this revisionist whitewashing just won't wash
There were between 2 and 2.5 THOUSAND rioters and their crimes were not just confined to some small corner of the capitol
They took over the whole building - less the part in which Secret Service agents protected the lives of democratically elected congressmen/senators from a mob screaming "hang Mike Pence"

Just what do you think the mob would have done if it had come across VP Mike Pence or speaker Nancy Pelosi ?

The mob was intent on usurping a democratic election, and without elections, a democracy is nothing but a dictatorship

EVERY single person involved in that riot and occupation of the Capitol, deserved prison sentences measured in decades

You say "trying to ruin thousands of people's lives" as if they were innocent people instead of people who willfully tried to turn the USA into a dictatorship. If their lives are "ruined" because they've been held to account, then it's WAY less than they deserve - every single one of them.

No, I want to charge every single participant of the insurrection riot. If they were there, then, IMO, they should go to prison for decades.

Stay on topic and don't try to deflect or defend those rioters crimes by claiming others were worse. Next you'll excuse Nazi concentration camp guards by say well more people died in Stalin's GULAG.

Little old ladies walked up the stairs at the Capitol on Jan 6th, to be politely ushered inside by capitol police, only to be charged with a crime weeks later, after facial recognition had identified them. The vast majority of people at the capitol that day did NOTHING WRONG whatsoever. But the witch hunters have charged everyone with being a witch.

Walz attacked by Trump but military record shows honorable service

Kamala Harris’s running mate has been accused of ‘stolen valor’ but his record shows 24 years’ service in various roles

Then, by occupying the Capitol, those "little old ladies" were just as guilty as the rest of the insurrection rioters
And any Capitol police that assisted them were equally complicit

If you break the law, I think you'll find that justices cares little about your age and gender
So how about you stop making emotive appeals regarding frail "little old ladies", and focus on what happened on Jan 6 ?

Oh and while you're at it, can you ID any of those frail, "little old ladies" ?
