This has a feel like the Virginia Tech shootings... mentally unstable student with a history of mental disorders who was able to legally purchase a weapon in a state where folks with mental disorders were not supposed to be able to legally buy weapons.
So, how do we put folks with mental disorders on a "do not sell gun" list without violating constitutional and privacy concerns? Would it even be possible?
Kalifornia has idiotic gun control laws. what we do know is that whackos who are intent on perpetrating capital murder can get guns. Sadly the victims did not have weapons
What you say here is true, but it's not accurate. There's more to the Trayvon Martin case than merely "a man shooting another person possibly in self defense."A man mercilessly gunning down people on a college campus should be much much more of a concern of our country than a man shooting another person possibly in self defense. If not for political gain, what possible reason is there to ignore these crimes but exploit Trayvon so much?

I'm not sure nothing can be done, though I understand anyone who thinks it's a tough problem. If you read my post above yours, you'll see that I think most of these people send out signals of one sort or another. I mean, let's face it, these people have a problem. One that could be addressed, at an early-enough stage, by counseling perhaps.
We're doing that with bullying now. And with domestic violence. "Here's what to watch out for" kinds of things. Seems like if we put school violence front and center, we could do the same thing with kids killing kids in school.
Good thing you guys are above using a ****ing tragedy to score cheap ****ing political points. It's good to know there are no depths some people will not ****ing stoop to. Keep up the good work.
Bro, I missed your outburst over obama " using a ****ing tragedy to score cheap ****ing political points"..... Just sayin...
senseless tragedy, no more explainable then why a tornado tares apart one house while it leaves the neighbor's house standing.
all we can do is grieve & hope this doesn't happen again.
But I found your evasions right off the bat. Just sayin'.

If a liberal had posted this, .
I could not disagree more. Much more should be done than just hoping people stop shooting up schools.
What evasions? your feigned outrage is noted. Does this make you better than those you just chided?
Another JUST WOW moment for me!
I have never been in a forum that moves so fast and has so many tangents ready to launch. Everyone has their favorite drum to beat. Very selective in their umbrage, not so in their choice of words.
The bottom line is this wasn't grade/high school kids so the 'if it saves jess one chil'' is misplaced. Seems some want the replies to stay on topic only if the post is directly directly at them, veer off attacking the President is ok I guess.
If Maggie can bear one more comment, yes if you had just posted the breaking news with a 'when will this end' or 'I can't stand this continuing violence' that would be one thing, but to ask when Congress will address this? It has and nothing was done, about typical for Congress no matter which party chairs the committees.
Now that some of the facts are trickling out the adult gunman killed in a private adult education facility, it has little to do with being in 'Kalifornica' as most states allow a BUSINESS to regulate concealed carry on their property and a vast majority of businesses routinely post NO weapons signs. His weapon wasn't an AK but a simple pistol, legal in EVERY state in this grand Union.
The place wasn't targeted as a Christian place but yet another disgruntled student. Not sure just what can be done in such a case, he had a clean record, he was as legal to purchase a pistol as anyone else.
Often someone will say if there had been an armed CCW citizen this wouldn't have happened. Tests and trials show most often the CCW can't draw cleanly in a face to face confrontation and loses. The CCW under stress, that adrenaline surge thing, can't put two anywhere on target, BIG difference standing on a oneway range vs amid the chaos of a real situation. Even in very CCW friendly states the odds of a CCW person being within range to become involved in such a scenario is like collecting hen's teeth in a desert.
I suppose Congress could hold yet another hearing on gun violence, gun bans, and mental stability but I don't think anyone will like the results.
What feigned outrage? That I responded to different situations differently? That I did not publicly chide Obama for answering a question? That you use this killing to attack Obama who had nothing to do with it? That you have no ****ing clue what my reaction to how Obama answered the question since I did not comment, and had been staying away from anything involved with that story from before Obama was even asked that question? Good job with random made up accusations Rev. Keep up the good work.
This is not the wild wild west movies. We are also not talking about a tactical murderer here, using military training, cover and movement to kill people. Of the little interviews I've seen in the news reports, the guy stood straight up and it was reported "calmly shot at targets". Granted, you have a point that under stress, shooting a handgun for those not used to doing such a thing in a life & death environment does effect accuracy. Yet, I'd certainly be willing to have a small chance to stop a deranged shooter in a school vs. no chance.Often someone will say if there had been an armed CCW citizen this wouldn't have happened. Don't even try bringing that discussion up, you'll get branded as insensitive and trying to use a tragedy for an agenda....
For the record, I do have an agenda. I'd like to see much less shooting in schools. They are becoming much more commonplace.

Pertaining to colleges gun should be allowed, imo.
The moment students see some ass shooting at people, they'll draw their guns and drop him.
