$4,700 raise for memebers of Congress.

As if there isn't enough corruption now. How would this work, IT, and who the hell would want the job?

Well, considering that our "public servants" regularly spend hundreds of thousands of dollars (and more) to be elected to an office that pays far less than they pay to win election, one could ask if it is the salary that impacts their desire to "serve."

Let's face it, were it not for the largess of the "lobby industry" many of our public servants would need to adjust their lifestyle. And they certainly would not go on to the profitable careers they often have after upon leaving our "service."

What would happen if they only were paid for their actual accomplishments for the PUBLIC good and not at the behest of their other employers..the lobbyists. In light of their performance in the past few years, I'd suggest that they would be lucky if they even made minimum wage.
