4, 5 or 600,000 votes to still count in AZ?

Appreciate your comment was made in jest,

Except it wasn't. :) Righties are getting themselves worked up in all kinds of poutrage, when the Republican-run Maricopa County is the one with the delays.

but was thinking of this following:
I certainly appreciate that for various reasons it may take time to get all votes counted, and it's of course possible that the votes yet to be counted come from areas that tend to skew one way or the other. Based upon this, Lake very well may make up the deficit and win.

But could you imagine the MAGA republican response if the rolls were reveresed? A MAGA in the lead when the first votes come in; in the lead at the end of the night on voting day; in the lead a day later and then another day.

When suddenly at the last minute, more ballots are counted that now reverse the lead and give the win to the Dems. The MAGAs would lose their freaking minds with their voter fraud claims and rigged elections.

I would rather the election be long than be wrong.

Then why did you comment?

If you lived in AZ you would be livid with Republicans. Will say it again. Arizona has had a Republican majority State Legislature. They wrote the election laws. They were signed by a GOP Governor.

So are the elected Republicans in Arizona incompetent?.
i commented because its a FUBAR mess - im not a hyper-partisan interested in blaming this or that party -they have serious problems that arent getting solved.
Contrast that to Florida where we looked at it as a systemic problems and did reform, and it was done with bi-partisan support

Other states voting systems are same day efficient.

I find it amazing that every single time you come across something that should tell you that you simply didn't know much about the subject you were running your mouth about, you conclude it's evidence of something being nefarious or at least an incompetent failure.

If you believe in a States right to handle its elections the way they see fit this is how Republican controlled AZ wants to handle its elections. Having said that I think AZ is a bat sh!t crazy State !!!!
it's not my "belief" state legislatures have the Constitutional purview to run federal elections
I dont know how they go so screwed up -i suspect it the process and not the party doing it

If true it doesn't surprise me a bit in AZ. Our friends in AZ are staunch conservative Republicans but not Trumper election deniers. They simply could not bring themselves to vote for Hobbs, the Dem, or Lake, the denier, they did however vote for Kelly because they believed him a good man who would do right by AZ at a National level.
I'm talking about the total ballots cast for each race, not the number cast for a given candidate. In theory, someone voting for ANY gubernatorial candidate would also vote for a senate candidate. They may not vote for for Secretary of State or Mine Inspector but those top two races should have similar totals with regard to overall ballots cast.

When I posted that comment there was a difference of 10k votes in overall ballots. An hour later there was a small update and the totals came to within a hundred or so of each other. Now we're back to that 10k spread. Since all races are listed on every ballot it's just weird that so many people (if that's what happened) would choose to vote for a senator and not a governor or vice versa. This isn't a conspiracy of mine or anything. It's simply a comment that the current results on OVERALL BALLOTS CAST FOR EACH RACE is weird.

I'm interested in your source. Nothing l am seeing is reflecting what you are saying. Will you share your source?

I just read that Maricopa County won't report until next week at the earliest. They will take tomorrow off for Veteran's Day and than, I guess, get the weekend off.

We've got some other weird stuff happening too. According to the Sec. State website there were 10k less ballots cast for Governor than for Senator. I can understand a lower vote total for some of the down ballot races but Gov and Sen should be pretty close totals.
Maricopa is working tomorrow. Staff there is working 14-18 hours a day according to their board chairman.

That is not a particularly unusual difference between ballots cast for each race. There were about 8,000 more ballots for senate than governor in 2018 in Arizona. There was a 26,000 difference in 2010. (No senate race in 2014).

What's going on there? I think they need to fix their elections system.
Hopefully, a good percentage of these late votes are for Republicans.
I think you need to get an education.

The issues in AZ are not serious.
What source did you use to come to that conclusion?

Ah, but the rationale that if a bad thing happens when someone is in charge then it must be the fault of that person only applies with Democrats are in charge.

When Rs are in charge, it's the fault of the FBI, ANTIFA, Democrats, Lizardmen, who knows. . . .
you're god damned right!

the very fact a relatively small size vote takes days to count - nevermind the bungling print mess that could have caused people to try to go elsewhere and vote is serious. that's AZ

In PA changing the procedure by a sec of state, when the state legislature is the authority is also problematic
Even this cycle the SCOTUS said undated or unsigned envelopes can't be counted, was countermanded by ( i think it was) the sec of state.
If you dont want 'election deniers' then clean up and streamline procedures; I know in Florida we were a running joke after Bush v Gore -and having the election go to SCOTUS called it in doubt

Sorry, you are falling for the misinformation and spin from whatever news source you are using.

Maricopa County had +200,000 early ballots turned in on election day in drop boxes. All of those ballots had to go through the process of signature verification, etc.

Bottom line. You do not live in Arizona. It is clear you do not understand the voting process in Arizona.

What is so funny is Kari Lake is trashing the Arizona Republican Party and members. Maricopa County elections are managed by Republicans. The State Legislature is Republican majority. They wrote the voting laws being used. Lake is showing no leadership and just complaining. Today she trashed the election workers, board of supervisors and the county recorder. That is not a good way to start out as Governor.

Like most of these issues, she wants to fix the problems that affect real people. The other side just wants to keep up the same unworkable bullshit.

If Republicans come up short don't they just call the SoS and ask them to find the votes?
I'm sure the real Arizonans are disappointed that the California refugees that moved there to get out of a lib shithole are turning AZ into yet another lib shithole.

Welcome to Arizona; it is the way elections have always worked here. 75% of the ballots are now, and have been for many years, mail-ins. Seems no one expected any different until this year - it'll get done, same as always.

Naw, they bring money, open businesses, and raise our property values. We’re fine with that.

I disagree when it comes to elections. She wants to take the State backwards.

What is discouraging is how in a round about way she is trashing her fellow Republicans in various offices. Republicans wrote the election laws we are using. Funny how things were fine till 2020 when someone lost. Now it is lets change the laws.

When was the last time you've been to Arizona? It's pretty much the opposite of California.

You commies have been moving here to Nevada for decades, and we're still free. We turn you commies into normal, freedom loving Americans. You have no effect on us.

Arizona is no different. Indeed, Arizona and Nevada are alike. Oregon is like California, Arizona is not.

Lots of commies in Vegas. The rest? Not so much. It’s the free stuff, I guess.

Trump came perilously close to destroying America as we know it. The entire country has been in chaos since the 2020 election. This election will be seen as the beginning of the end of Trump's bullshit.

We are seeing it play out now. The only thing left is holding all the coup plotters accountable for all their crimes. I have my fingers crossed this will happen shortly. 🤞

They are sifting through the ballots to find the ones cast by commies.
