Wow. Those are really bad numbers.
I think it's safe to predict that Trump has a Zero chance of being elected for a third term!

Democrats keep running utter train wrecks. All they gotta do is put up a normal, competent, semi-decent adult.... and they can't seem to clear that bar.

Republicans put up a 34 count convicted felon, rapist, grifter, and traitor- and did fine. Can’t imagine that’s the problem.

If the Republicans had sense enough to have picked someone like Haley, they likely would have won in an landslide and given the state of the Democrats today, they would probably be looking at Reagan level support.

That's a problem.

I would point out that those 34 items are all just one item, which in and of itself was obviously BS (the real crimes he was obviously guilty of involved the classified material, and he was likely guilty in the Georgia case as well, though that one got screwed up by the prosecutor).

But yup. That is absolutely a problem. So is the fact that the Democrats were still, apparently, unwilling to put up someone who could beat him (Gov Shapiro, but he was bad, because... well.... you know.....).

Very Likely, I think.

All either side has to do to win at this point is look sane and normal and competent. That's it. That's the bar.

If you run a sane and reasonable candidate against the prophet Muhammad in an Islamic country, that candidate will not stand a chance- even though the prophet is known to have been a pedophile and engaged in massacres.

It’s hard to run against cult prophets. It’s not about being more sane, reasonable, or competent. The cult prophet can have his devotees chasing after cat eating Haitians in Ohio, cancer causing wind turbines, autism causing vaccines, stolen presidential elections, secret Kenyan birth certificates, genocidal S Africans, and all sorts of other odds and ends- and they will still have think that is what sane and reasonable people should believe and do.

But just don’t talk to them about what physicians and scientists say- because then all of a sudden they become these amazingly sophisticated skeptics.

Being sane and reasonable has nothing to do with anything anymore in today’s America.

In a Muslim country virtually the whole populace are going to revere him as the greatest of the Prophets.

Trump's cult is limited to a subsection of Republicans, and is unpopular with the country at large. They don't have the numbers to put up the orange escaped-cocaine-study-monkey and win.

For Trump to win, the Democrats have to find a way to nominate someone the broad middle manages to like even less.

Biden oversaw disastrous policy overseas, a painful spike in inflation, and seemed to be non compos mentis. Harris was part of all that (including the cover up of Biden's decline), was a terrible politician to begin with, and had also made the unfortunate decision in 2020 to run for President Of Left Wing Twitter, and had married herself to some of the Party's more insane positions as a result.

It’s going to take a generation or more to undo the damage Trump has inflicted on America. Much of it is irreversible at this point.
 
Among that 57% are low-info ****leheads who are getting exactly what they voted for, but not what they wanted. It's almost like we need to pay attention to the character of the person we're voting for. Gee, what a novel concept.

Trumpism is about the ego of one man. Everything he's done with one particular legislative exception has been done via executive order, and can be undone or (more likely) redone by the next guy.

The Left also appears to be in complete denial about how much of what he has done is built on precedent their own team participated in laying down.

Your feelings about how bad he is =/= the role he plays in our slide from a Republic to an autocracy. He is a continuation of that, a particularly crude and blunt continuation, but a continuation nontheless. He is not a break from what was previous.

Yep, trump doesn't believe in the Laws and Constitution.

If, and only if, the American People voters put the House of Representatives and Senators when the Chief of the Supreme Court put
trump out of this president.

PLEASE, THE LAWS OF PUTTING THE HOUSE TO IMPEACHMENT AND IN TRIAL PUT TRUMP TO WHERE HE IS SURES - IN PRISONS.
