3-D printed guns

Sure, but I heard that it is a one time use

Can’t censor this Patriot

Not at all. These guns are not only fine craftsmanship, they can (and are) used as a practical weapon. Some can even shoot better than the stuff you can buy.

My machine shop is actually smaller than my 3d printer bench, yet it is quite capable of producing a gun. Of course, I have larger 3d printers than most people...

Well if you're going to buy a j head Mill for $2000.00 you're going to need some space to put it

You can get a 3D printer that will fit on top of the night stand

Quite right. The probability is quite high. You know, there WAS a time when people DID carry their firearms on board commercial aircraft (I still carry mine when I'm the pilot or working around the airport). No one made a fuss. Heck, there was even such a thing as gun club at school. You brought your gun to school for gun club. Imagine that today!

I know. There was a time when you could walk up to the White House door and ask to speak to the President personally. Imagine that

If you want to buy that big a mill.

It really doesn't matter in the end. Make the gun by any method you want to.

Not at all. Do you see people shooting up the parks, the shopping malls, the bus, the trains, other than an occasional gang member or something?

No. You go to all these places and don't think about getting involved in a shootout.

That's because in each of these places, you are SURROUNDED by good guys with guns. More people carry than you think!

IF a shooting occurred in flight, the whole situation won't last long. The hijacker will be dead (and quite probably trampled!) in seconds.

Three words- nine one one.

That is pretty interesting but, I rather get mine from the actual manufacture

You can't keep'em and bear'em if you can't make'em.

Oh that's crap. There's nothing that says anyone can make 'em: zip guns are illegal.

where did the federal government get the proper power to ban them? what federal law says this

Not the issue. It's an egregious 1st amendment violation. But people only care about that if the ruling affects only their speech.

No, I don't think it really is a first amendment issue: for an AR15 it's a copyright violation and zip guns are illegal. The troll is just stirring up second amendment trouble.

who is this troll you refer to and what law bans "zip guns"

Of course the federal government has the power to ban any gun it chooses not in common use

The thing I saw isn’t an AR-15 clone and if there were copyright or patent issues those are civil and would require the copyright or patent holder to initate the action. The government cannot simply step into on their own.

This is an act of prior restraint on the part of the government and excepting some very narrow exceptions - like national security - it is unconstitutional.

the patent on the AR 15 has long expired-its why there are at least 50 companies making AR 15s including

Daniels Defense
Colt
Bushmaster (Remington etc)
Armalite
Springfield Armory
Windham Weaponry (the original Bushmaster)
PSA
DelTon
Spikes Tactical
HM Defense
Anderson Arms
Noveske
Wilson Combat
Les Baer
Stag
CMMG

You do realize that the government hasn’t banned the gun but is trying the plans to make the gun and that those are two different things. You do understand that right?

And banning a brand new weapon because it “isn’t in common use” really doesn’t fly. You know for something to be in common use you kind of have to give a chance in the market place.

I do know that. And no you do not "need to give it a chance in the marketplace." Who made that rule? LOL

Does the phrase "in common use" even show up in the Commerce Clause?

The CC expansion is one of the most dishonest frauds perpetrated by the government on the Public
