Artur Grigoryan didn’t wear a mask on an American Airlines flight and was arrested early Tuesday morning, WKRN-TV reported. The flight was delayed and Grigoryan was removed from the plane.

Officers had received a call Monday night about the 33-year-old refusing to wear a mask on a Spirit Airlines flight and calling the crew “vulgar names.” He won’t be allowed to fly with the airline in the future.

So the airlines have their own internal 'No Fly' lists.

This guy was also accused to stealing from an airport shop.
 
Both men were charged with disorderly conduct and had bail set at $1,000.

We don't have any grocery store mandates yet. What state do you live in? I'm not for arresting anyone provided they either leave the or comply.... Arresting the unmasked is just a tad harsh, Nazi-like.... What if a kid won't wear their mask while at school? Arrest them or their parents?

Won't wear a mask at school he is a public heath risk, how would you handle any public health risk?

So what is the charge? Was he arrested for no mask or for his conduct in calling the crew vulgar names? Was he held and if so for how long. The airlines can remove those who will not wear a mask but is there a law allowing his arrest and detainment.

In the case presented in the OP, leaving the premise was not an option. Or maybe it is. exit at 35,000 feet. :LOL:

I still do not understand the non compliance attitude by some people. If they believe the mask does not work it does not hurt them to wear a mask. Besides a mask is there more to protect others in the case that one might have covid19.

Some have said its about freedom of choice. The line of my body , my choice line is used. Well that is fine if ones inaction regarding covid only impacts that person.

We have lots of laws that restrict what one might consider freedom of choice. The mask requirement is temporary. People just need to chill.

The guy in the O/P deserved to be arrested. He stole from a gift shop in the airport and refused to comply with the airline's mandate. I stand by my point above. Most when asked will put on a mask or leave. Arresting them without asking them to comply is Nazi-like.

I am vaccinated, and so is my wife, and we wear masks

With that said...under what charge? Whose jurisdiction?

You may not like people expressing their rights and freedoms...and i WISH everyone had common sense and got themselves and their family vaccinated....but i cant force them to do so

We dont live in communist China....there are still choices here....and people are allowed to be absolutely STUPID if they wish

And there is no law against stupid that i know of.....

OK, listen up, I am only going to post this once.

The governor can issue an emergency order to mask and it is fully enforceable.

A store can set a policy requiring masks and if a customer does not comply it is trespassing and enforceable.

Freedoms are limited and are in constant flux as sociaty evolves or deals as we are with emergency circumstances.

China has zero to do with this. That is snowflake logic.

People are not allowed to be stupid with repercussions, both civil and legal.

There are countless laws against stupid. In fact most laws are designed to stop stupid.

Cite the law the police will arrest and prosecute you under if the Governor of your state declares an "emergency order"

I dont think you will be able to find one

He can order masks in HIS buildings (state buildings) just as the President can and has ordered all federal buildings and land to use masks

But no one has the right to declare masks to be worn EVERYWHERE....no one

And that is why it hasnt been done in any state during the entire pandemic, and it wont be

Again....freedom reigns supreme here....even for stupidity

OMG! The communist China comparison IS SO disingenuous as to be laughable.
In communist China, the government would tell an airline what they can or can not allow.
In the U.S. and all other free democracies, the airline chooses, just as a restaurant, or a place of business or a church decides.
If you enter a place of business that requires a mask and you make an ass of your self, you get arrested NOT for being unmasked, but for making an ass of yourself.
I guess by YOUR definition of communism, if a store requires you wear shoes to enter, and you enter without shoes, and refuse to leave, then that store is an example of communism, right?

An individual on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States who, by assaulting or intimidating a flight crew member or flight attendant of the aircraft, interferes with the performance of the duties of the member or attendant or lessens the ability of the member or attendant to perform those duties, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined under title 18, imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both. So I guess this means the government cannot order businesses to demand proof of vaccination of all their customer and employees either... can you please confirm this for me? Thanks
